Hi, I know this is old but I wanted to share my black Billy M that I got preowned from eBay. I love that it's so lightweight and edgy and goes with almost everything I wear.

Also wanted to mention that I went to the NYC boutique last year and the service was impeccable. I was looking for an Igor fringe and they emailed me a few weeks later when they found one 50% off! It wasn't the color I wanted, so I'm still in pursuit...

Hi! I am new here. Just purchased my first JD bag on Friday at the SOHO store- a L Billy in bottle green lamb leather (the "bubbly" leather). The folks at the shop were wonderful, and I received a good sale price. I am wondering now, if perhaps the bag is too large for me:shucks:. I am trying to decide if the Alain might be a better choice. Has anyone had both bags? Do you prefer one over the other? If so, why? I have my bottle green Billy on the eBay now- still trying to decide if it's for me...wondering if maybe Fate will decide for me...

Personally, I prefer the Billy. It's JD's best-selling bag. Boho style, so lightweight and roomy.
And you got it at a very good price, in a Lovely colour and wonderful leather
.Alain makes me think of a sailor's bag. It's not as feminine as Billy I think and not as practical when you want to find something at the bottom of your bag.
Alain's handles are much too thin too for such a bag.
You understand that I think you should keep your great find!

Thank you so much for the advice, Mariapia! Mine is the Billy, large size....I wonder if it might be too big? I sometimes carry a Longchamp Pliage in large, when I need some extra room. I like the look and feel of this one, though. I tried the medium size when I was in the store; however, when closed it seemed almost satchel-sized- smaller than I would have liked. I didn't try the Alain when I was there- now I wish I had at least checked it out... I looked at Billy (L and M), Max (L and M) and Igor. The salespeople were absolutely fantastic- very patient, kind, and willing to look through back stock, too. Sigh. When I see my bag in the pictures, I truly almost sell it to myself all over again, lol! I am so very grateful for your opinion! :shrugs:

Let's wait and see what fate decides.....
Personally I love big bags, and though I am 5ft4, the medium would be too small for me as what counts is what I put in it....and I need to carry my house....;)

Well, fate intervened, and I sold my L Billy bag, and purchased a M Billy in a burgundy calf leather. He is "new to me" and in beautiful condition. I am delighted!

I did want to share a great way I've discovered to keep my bags with few pockets organized. I bought the "In and Out Bag" by Tintamar.

I bought it to use with my Mulberry small Bayswater satchel (it has kept the interior pristine!). I bought mine at the BHV in Paris; however they also have a website. It's the most well-constructed bag organizer I've used, and it has loads of great pockets. The nylon keeps my bags safe from spills. It fits beautifully inside the small Bays, and I'm road testing it in my new-to-me Billy this week :-).

I was looking at the newest collection of bags on the JD website and noticed that the e-shop appears to be gone. I've tried googling, looking all over the website... Does anyone know if it's gone for good?

I have no idea and was wondering the same thing....The site was down for a few days then when it was back up the eshop was gone. Hopefully it will be back up soon, being as though I am not fortunate to have any of the boutiques nearby.

That's exactly my problem. Various online stores carry SOME JD bags, but none of them carry too many. Often I've found that the only place (in the U.S.) that I can find one is the JD website.

JD was actually my gateway into designer bags - I'd gotten a black Johan almost 2 years ago in Paris, and used it almost exclusively for a whole year. (And can I just say, compared to my Celine phantom now, that bag was so freaking light!)
I believe they have some available on Net-a-porter?

Hi girls. I have look on the lovely Aldo bag but i wonder Can this bag have bronze hardware and Brown shelter inside. I have one for years ago and it has blu shelter inside.
It is on EBay a i Can Bay it.

Quick question for all of you Jerome Dreyfuss lovers...
How much do you mark a NWT handbag down from current retail before listing it on the Bay? I have a brand new Johan that I am listing, which retails for $980. I am not sure of the appropriate pricing...any suggestions for the typical reductions for Buy it Now Pricing?
