Hum, I still have time to cancel the order, if necessary. Are the bags durable? How's the craftmanship? From what I read on purseforum (thank God for purseforum!), the bags are created with really good, high-quality leather, but the quality is so-so, as in it rips easily. Is that true? Thanks for your response! :]
Yeah I heard and read that a lot too. French fashion forums, blogs and friends. I've always wanted to buy a Billy or a Max but what I read prevented me from taking the plunge.
The bags look really good, I mean the designs, the colors, the leathers !! But what I read was just too much. Color transfers, hardware and straps falling apart, pieces of leather GLUED and not sawn.
I liked this style they're promoting "Roots Deluxe" but at this price, it has to be "Deluxe" somewhere or else I can just go to Barbès and buy any slouchy bag with fringes for 10 euros.

Once again, I like the style, but I won't spend 500 euros or more for something that will last a few days/weeks and then will fall apart or look like a dirty and old bag I could have find in the trash.
One blog entry among others: http://www.punky-b.com/archive/2009/07/28/dis-jerome/
Basically she says that after three days, a rivet holding the fringes fell apar, then she noticed the leather around the zip was coming off and that after that, 10 days later it was the strap. :s

I have a few JD bags - a Twee, 2 Billys, Franky, (python) Bob and a Pat (nylon and leather).

For the most part I have found the quality to be good. The Billys, Bob and Pat always carry a ton - my laptop, a notebook, client papers, wallet, makeup bag, phone, power cords etc. The Pat is huge and has been a travel bag as well.

The Bob's pockets on the side have started ripping a bit (leather coming away from the liner. But other than that, no issues.

The python Franky has held up well despite the skin being delicate. I actually don't baby it as much as I probably should.

I had a funny issue with the first Twee I bought. The inside pocket was completely sewn shut! I brought it back to the store and they were very apologetic, swapped it out right away.

The leather on the goatskin Billy has worn in amazingly and the cow leather one is very durable.

So generally no complaints out of the bags I have, and quality good enough that I've purchased a few times (always on sale, but they're still an investment.)

My Billy is holding up really well.

I truly toss the bag around, I don't baby it at all. I have the large, and carry my laptop in it. The leather is really soft, it doesn't scratch or scuff at all. Mine is green, and I've had no issues with color transfer either onto or from the bag.

I have a Twee Mini Python leather I bought in 2010. It's very small so I don't carry to much in it, but the leather is still in great condition and the bag holds really well.
It was quite cheaper then though, and I' m not sure it is now worth it with the price increases.

Hi. I'm thinking of getting Twee Mini for my up coming Amsterdam trip. I'm looking for a small bag that I can carry around during stay because the most of must-go places are walking distance from where I'm staying.
Is Twee Mini big enough to hold my wallet (4x4), lipstick and iPhone 5?

Hi, I m European so I m not sure which measure you' re using when saying 4x4.
I attached a pic with a regular rayban sunglass case (7 x 16 cm) which fits and there s still space for iphone and lipstick. Hope that that helps.

Thank you so much!
4x4 meant inches so it about 10cmx10cm and iPhone is about 13cm long... so it looks like they fit?
I really like the looks. I didn't know there was a mirror on the flap.
I guess I just have to carry a smaller wallet during the trip :p

Hi, sorry for the delayed reply. It might be a little tight but it would definitely fit.
The mirror is really cool, and there s also a tiny flashlight inside to help you find keys at night :smile1:
I'm more of a big bag girl but I love this one so much that I carry it quite often anyways.

Does anyone have a Max bag? How much does it expand and is it too huge for everyday? I'm always on the lookout for bags that can hold my laptop (13") large wallet, makeup bag, mifi, iphone and chargers (as well as the occasional presentation or notebook). I'm sure the Max would do that but I'm wondering if it would be too big when I'm not carrying all of that stuff around.

The Max is a big bag, 45/40/20 cm.
It will hold everything you mentioned, of course.
In the link I gave you in the previous page you will see a mod pic.
Personally I am in love with Max!
Wish it were cheaper......

Thanks. I think I need to see it in person - it might be too big when I don't have that stuff in it!
