Ssense further marked down the Alain bag to $298, and I was able to purchase one this morning. I have also notice some sale bags showing up on Barneys, like the red Etienne for $400 something. Really looking forward to seeing this bag in person as I have ogled JD bags online all fall/winter. Hopes I like it IRL and am kind of holding my breath on this one.

It's called tan on Ssense website but it looks like cognac to me. Crossing fingers it's not too orangey.

The Alain arrived today, and I couldn't be happier. What a risk as I purchased this sight unseen. Pleasantly surprised at how light this bag is! It's generous too, has a wide top opening, and conforms to the body really well. Super easy to carry-I tried 2 different shoulder strap lengths, can't figure out cross body, but since it is so light I don't mind it on the shoulder as is. The lining is also surprisingly beautiful, it is cloth, and I was worried it was going to be ugly cotton like a flour sac, but it reminds me of silk (not satin.) I am very inclined now to get a second Alain in a different color (mine is Nuts.)

I hope this thread is still going on...I just bought a Jerome Dreyfuss "larry". I was wondering if you know where most of Jerome's bags are manufactured in...is it in France or Italy? Thanks everyone!

Hum, I still have time to cancel the order, if necessary. Are the bags durable? How's the craftmanship? From what I read on purseforum (thank God for purseforum!), the bags are created with really good, high-quality leather, but the quality is so-so, as in it rips easily. Is that true? Thanks for your response! :]
