Let us know if they write back :) I've seen some pictures of the SS12 collection but not enough to tell if there is goat leather or not.

I've also had a lot of luck emailing with them. I got a Franky in python at 40% off that wasn't showing in the e-shop. The Bob is on sale in all colors including black, I think they will not have it in the SS12 lineup.

I also wish they did more goat leather. I love it and it shapes to one's body making it very comfortable to carry. Plus, it's very light. I'll check at Jerome's Paris boutique, in a few months, to see if there are any previous model bags left in goat leather. But, that boutique is very small and bags fly out the door like crazy. I was there, less than a year ago, and dropped by to try to get a Billy and all the bags that I was interested in (except the gorgeous, camouflage, python Billy) were sold out. But, python has been illegal here in California for decades.

I'm going to contact the company and suggest more goat leather and also more videos on how to use the various bags. I'm known for writing letters to companies. :smile1:

OK. If I hear from them, I'll let you all know.

I've just received an e-mail letter from the Jerome Dreyfuss company. I sent them an e-mail letter late last night.

I wrote the company about more bags being done in goatskin and also about possibly making bags in water snake along with python. Python has been illegal, here in California, for over 25 years. We're the only state in the U.S. where it's illegal. But, water snake is legal. Chloe makes bags in water snake. I've seen them at the Chloe boutique at South Coast Plaza. An acquaintance of mine has the Chloe Paratay (sp?) style in water snake.

Although, as absolutely gorgeous as the camouflage python Billy and other python bags were that I saw at both the Dreyfuss boutique on rue Jacob in Paris and also at Le Bon Marche department store, L.A. customs would have had a field day with a python bag had I purchased one. I have this same situation annually, having to pass up all of the python in Paris.

In Paris in 2010, I really wanted my dark red, Chloe Elise to be in dark red python. The python ones were absolutely gorgeous. But, I settled for buffalo leather which turned out to be beautiful.

Below is the e-mail that I just received from the Dreyfuss company regarding discontinuing the use of goatskin and adding water snake:

"Hello,

thank you for your e-mail.

Unfortunately we are not making this leather anymore in the new collection but who knows...maybe in a future collection. It's a beautiful material and we love it very much here.

A good news about water snake, we are having bags made with this skin in the new collection you will be able to see them in a few weeks on the website.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Kind regards,"

Thanks for the info! That's too bad about the goat leather, mine has worn so nicely! But watersnake is a great option and usually not priced as high as python. I also feel like it's more durable but I could be totally wrong about that.

Here are the pictures I was able to find of SS12, some new styles. Not sure if he's using linen or if it's leather treated to look like linen. (Similar to the 'tweed leather' he did this fall.)

You're welcome for the info. And thanks for posting the 2012 photos. And yes, the company is very responsive. I just read your personal mail to me.

I e-mailed them late last night so that they would have the e-mail, in Paris, in the morning and they e-mailed right back. The e-mail included the rue Jacob boutique address in Paris.

Just came back from the NY store. It was between my dentist's and my office (on a Saturday, boo) so I took the excuse to take a look.

The sales are good right now so I picked up a Bob in Vision because it's a neutral, taupey color that I can wear in the summer. Now I really am DONE for awhile and am consigning a few other bags to pay it off!

I like that Bob style. It seems like it would be comfortable on the shoulder.

I've been carrying my Billy M ever since I got it. I can't believe that I have had no desire to change handbags in something like 3 weeks. But, it's just such a comfortable and well-designed bag until it's hard to put down.

I got the Billy bag too and I have to agree, the lambskin leather is super soft and smushy. I ordered it online and didn't really dig the color when I saw it IRL. It's like a sand color and was just too light for me, so I ended up giving it to my sister. I would love to get one in a darker color though.
Are you keeping both the black and green Tom? Lucky girl! Please post pics when you get them!

Such a nice bag by yooooo...

My Bob is super-comfy (and more expandable than it looks.) There is the most insanely beautiful python (natural coloring) Bob in the NY boutique right now. But I have bills to pay so it's not happening for me even though it is 40% off.

I've come to a conclusion, when it comes to large bags I don't like structure which is why most of the JD bags appeal to me.

When I first got my Billy I seriously think I carried it for almost 3 months straight. Same reason - so comfortable and practical. And it started a JD addiction.

I noticed that about the goatskin too. I got an invite to the spring cocktails launch at the NYC store and if I have time I'm going to check them out. (Yeah nothing like a glass or two of champers to make the wallet open).

If they are as soft and pliant as the sueded goatskin that would be tempting. Although that would make my 3rd JD handbag in as many months - MUST stop!
