New Yorkers - I was just at Fisch for the Hip and scored a brand new with tags Paul wallet for $144 (bottle green.) There's an Aldo bag (with tags) and another that looks like a satchel both in cognac color (I think it may have been used.) Prices were good (around $400 or less) but I don't need any thing brown. I also saw a Billy M that looked used but in pretty good condition - that golden 'glitter' leather for $300.

My brand new (with tags) Billy M that I snagged off of eBay for $389 just arrived. I already have one in goat leather and I can see a rekindling of a Billy love affair about to start :) oh, Jerome.

According to me, Billy M is the best choice, you are absolutely right!
In France, it's very difficult to find a shop that sells the brand.
Fortunatety, we can buy it on line now....:smile1:

I agree! It is so versatile. And I was even able to fit a 15" laptop in it. Now I have a 13" which is far more manageable.

I'm surprised it is so hard to get his bags in France - he is French! Here we have the NY boutique and a few dept. stores carry them so it is actually not that difficult.

Yes, unless you live in Paris or a very big city where you can easily find the brand, in some regions, very few shops have them. I think it might have something to do with the prices....
Shop owners would probably say they wouldn't be able to sell them.

They are not cheap, even in euros. I do tend to wait for sales to buy them. I am lucky to have the boutique in NYC but it can be dangerous to my wallet.

After using my Jerome Dreyfuss Billy M in goat suede (Billy Goat-LOL!) for over two months straight, I put Billy to rest in his box for a while. Well, I woke him up again last weekend and am back to using him non-stop.

I was to get back to Paris last month, but had to cancel my flight; a reason to buy travel insurance as I got 75% of the ticket price back. But, I didn't get to the Jerome Dreyfuss boutique that's a few steps from my vacation rental apartment. Ugh! I wanted to see the new collection in person. Oh, well, there's always next year. Plus, I recently hit the streets, here in L.A., and saw some pieces although most were the same ones I saw in Paris in 2011. There were some new pieces though.

Billy Goat! Too funny. I never thought about it that way. I'll have to share it with my bf, out of all my bags, my green Billy Goat is his favorite.

I do have to say that all of the bags in Rust goatskin are amazing. It's not even a color I would normally wear but it feels so soft and squishy. I don't know how to explain it = - it is not sueded like my other Billy is but it's almost like if you took a combination of the goat leather like on our bags and crossed it with lambskin.

I have been wanting a medium-sized Billy bag in a tan/tobacco color for the longest time! I can't find any place that has them except some websites for shops based in Europe. The cost of ordering from Europe puts it in the no-way category for me, unfortunately. Does anyone know where in the US they're sold? (I know some sites like ShopBop and such have some JD bags, but none have the medium Billy.) Or is Evilbay my best bet? They don't seem to pop up on there too often.

You can order directly from the Jerome Dreyfuss site (click on their Eshop) which is your best bet. Barneys and Saks also sell them on their sites.

They do tend to pop up on Evilbay but it's all luck! I got a NWT medium Billy in black off of there for a steal but that was the first time in years that I saw it at that price.

I would call the store in Soho and tell them what you're looking for. Cognac used to be a color that is tan but they don't have it this season. Sometimes they have stock 'in the back' that is from previous seasons, and on sale :) They have emailed me pictures of stuff in the past (and made a sale that way.)

Let us know how you make out.
