We were supposed to attend a Justin Timberlake show and he cancelled it, too, so I think it's more than just Lopez that is having issues. Apparently Pink and the Jonas Brothers also cancelled portions of their tours a few weeks ago. And the Black Keys said they cannot fill the big venues they booked and had to cancel their tour. Between Timberlake and JLo I got back close to $350 so now that can fund something else now. The fees on tickets make up such a large portion these days.

NBC News : Why some major artists are suddenly canceling shows, and in some cases entire tours
Aren't people buying tickets to see TS in Paris or Spain and spending less with airfare, 2 nights hotel and venue tickets than buying tickets for one night to see her in the US? The economics are not working and Ticketmaster/LiveNation are due for a correction soon.

I think the cost of the tickets in the US for TS had more to do with reseller prices. Tickets were hard to get right out the gate so people were left having to buy from scalpers.

Which does make you wonder what is wrong with the system that resellers get them so easily (bots?).

When I was a young whippersnapper, before the days of the interwebz, we had to line up outside of the record store to buy our tickets at a counter. Something like $25 for a good seat. I remember gasping the first time I had to pay $50 to see a show. Now I don’t bother. If I can’t be in the first few rows, I’m not going.

And to be on topic, I wouldn’t pay more than $50 to see J. Lo. Her time as a headliner has come and gone and I don’t think she can capture the same level of influence she had as an entertainer 20 years ago. She made a good try at it, though!

Yeah, I would say that the prices for TS were about what you would expect face value. But since Ticketmaster screwed up the pre-sale and tons of resellers got there hands on them when there was supposedly a system in place for that not to happen such as fan club sales and codes things like that.

I did read about of bunch of people from the US going to Paris (something like 25% of the audience). They were able to get face value tickets and instead of crazy reseller prices, they booked a trip. win-win I'd say.

Back to Jennifer, who knows what's going on with her & Ben. It could just be a spat, but unlike us normal folk, where someone would be riding the sofa, Ben was like, I'm going to the other mansion! *slams door*.

she definitely strikes me as one of those women who do not ever want to be without a man - especially at her age - because it makes them look bad and people wondering what is wrong with her.
I think this is the perfect age to go without a man. Too old for the young guys and too old for the old guys. I wouldn't think there's anything wrong with a woman at her age to be without a man, she's done everything already.

Oh, I wouldn't pay to see JLo. I don't watch her movies either. She's great at self promotion and business, not too much artistic talent.

My favorite word. 🤣🤣 ahhh to be a young whippersnapper again…

I wouldn't think there is something wrong with a woman any age without a man! times have changed. but some women still think they will be viewed as spinsters/old maids. I know someone that loves to post on FB about her "dating activities" that she is always somewhere with someone having so much fun. and it is all a lie to make people think that she is booked and busy.

JT is here this week and sold out a huge Dallas arena. Here the giant arenas are still packed and typically sold out.

I don’t love giant concerts personally, hard to get the sound right!
We went to see Paul McCartney on a hot summer night at that new Dallas stadium and they had us packed in the tunnel for a few minutes before letting us in. As a short and extremely claustrophobic person, I didn't enjoy it. We we had tickets to a Coldplay tour and there was a monster thunderstorm that night so we didn't go. I thought sure they would cancel it but they played 80 minutes. Wet seats. Short show. I swore I would never go to one of those big stadiums again.

If he said that, it's hard to see much hope...or even if the thought it.

My dad and his second wife eloped to Vegas. He said he knew the night he did it it was a mistake. They divorced about 1.5 years later, but not until after they had a kid. Sad.

The DOJ seems to finally be going after TM for their monopoly. I hope so. I have wanted them to do something about this since around 2000.

I can't imagine knowing/feeling that so quickly. I think I would panic! Did he feel stuck with her after the baby was born?

They were on and off for a while. I think he just had a weak moment. She was a nice person but she had this pettiness quality I have never seen in another person that was off-putting. And I remember her saying she went off the pill on purpose without telling him vividly. I was 14 at the time so I didn't realize what that meant. Of course he was responsible because he still had sex with her. They were only together a short while after the baby was born. The whole thing was pretty sordid and she told me things she never should have told me. Don't want to get too OT here.

Home purchased 1 year ago on the market today... Anyone have $60 million lying around?

Obviously hasn’t been advised about the 2 year rule.
