This bag is stitched together inside out, then turned back, so the stitches around the corners get stretched. And since the Vuitton sewing machines are monsters, they tend to make enormous holes and in some cases they show. In most cases they won't tear more. I wouldn't be surprised if that was there from day 1. But I totally understand that it doesn't look nice. I'm afraid they won't consider this a defect though.
Here is a press photo of an Empreinte Multi Pochette, the stitching holes on the side are like little tears:

And this other pic of the underside of the Alma BB handle shows how ruthless those machines are, very pronounced holes:

Thank you !

Hi there! Just opened my first LV (was a gift) today and checked it out pretty well. The seal/glazing on one side of the strap seems to be off - you can see the corner/edge of the strap that is folded over is coming up. Is this normal? It seems like a small thing, but all my other corners are sealed well and I worry that it will continue to pull and curl. Is this worth bringing back to the store? Pic attached. TIA!

It is very tiny, almost invisible. BUT. It is right in a crucial place, scarves, coats, sleeves, something will very soon get caught on it, and it will curl more and more. It won't come off, since it is stitched down, but it will get ugly. I'd ask for a new strap, this one is only 99% OK.

It is a soft leather, not as stiff and armour-like as Épi, but it still should be very durable. It is a super high quality full grain leather after all. If a grain is peeling, I doubt they can repair it. But they should exchange.
Thank you for the feedback. I was thinking of keeping it, but took it back after reading your reply. They didn’t have another one available so I ended up buying an easy pouch and I think I’m just going to wait until they have the Brazza in stock in a different leather.

Speedies are put together on an assembly line, it only takes like 3-4 minutes and a new bag is ready from scratch. So the handmade argument does not stand for their highest volume products.
It is true that their sewing machines are so brutal that sometimes the inner thread (the red in this case) can peek through the large hole it punched. But that is a little red dot, not an entire — and clearly loose — thread. Probably won't come apart anytime soon, but this is not a case of magnifying glass paranoia. That thread should not be there at all. You are right.
One more question @BULL - the handles are the bag are rough. The picture doesn’t show it well. I’ve never had a purse with the handles not smooth. Is this normal? Thanks again!

It actually is. When a toron handle like this is made from smooth leather, it is practically a matter of luck if it will get a little (or a lot) wrinkled when bent to being attached. Like as if the leather had a mood at that moment. Really. If the leather has a paint finish (like this one or Épi) it is more likely to develop these wrinkles, VVN is a little less likely but still very very common. With textured leathers (like Taurillon) it is always nicer since the texture hides the additional wrinkling. Personally I don't mind it al all, my Alma BB is like your Speedy, but I can see why people prefer the smooth ones.

Hi,

For those that have the High Rise already, can you all post some pictures of the stitching at the top of each corner.

My threads are a little more exposed on one side and I'm wondering if it could become a problem in the future because this is where most of the flexing/bending occurs.

My stitching is slightly exposed on one side. Honestly I couldn’t even see that close without using the mag app on my phone lol. Yours seems more prominent but I wouldn’t worry about it. If it bothers you then return. I’ve seen the HR available for purchase quite frequently lately so you should be able to get another one fairly easily.

Thanks for your reply...and yes I'm afraid of returning and not being able to get another one.

Decisions decisions

While it looks like a stress point, in reality it is not, since there is a rock-solid fixed structure under it inside, there won't be any "stress" there when used, unlike when such a seam is exposed on a Clès or a Speedy. But the thread is a little too exposed in the first pic. It won't fall apart or anything, but I'd be afraid that it will get caught on something.

Does anybody know if there is a Pochette accessoires in Damier ebene with the LV logo not two on each side, but only one in the middle on each side?
That wouldn't surprise me. The ladies reported here about a Monogram Pochette batch a few ago, that had 2 LVs in the middle instead of the usual 6 around.
