I bought a speedy 20 last week and only wore it twice to work, which was a 20 minutes walk each time. However, I noticed 2 leather trims already became “flaky” - is this normal wear and tear? I know vachetta is delicate but still surprised to see that this soon and worried if it will peel off shortly when I continue to use this bag?

Normal, I don’t see an issue

I got this Neverfull only two months ago and it’s been used twice. I’ve only really just noticed the handles look rough, as if they are not completely inked/glazed to the full edges.

An update: LV have offered to have the handles replaced foc. It's been sent off to France for up to 15 weeks. Although they didn't admit there was a problem, I guess the complementary repair is them acknowledging there is an issue with them.

I had my Pochette Accesoires for about 2 years now and noticed that spots of the light brown color on the flower were missing on the corner. Is this normal ? Im very careful with my bag and don’t touch it until waiting several minutes after applying hand sanitizer.

I hear that canvas isn’t repairable. Am I doomed?

TIA

Yes. This is considered normal wear. Something was rubbing against it (hand, another bag, anything really), this will develop eventually on stretched canvas corners. And they won't touch it. Try to forget about it and continue loving the bag if you can.

thanks, Bull! I think you helped answer some of my other questions over the past few years. I appreciate your help!

And one last question, there’s also a tiny hole in the corner. Is this normal ? TIA

Anytime :)

This bag is stitched together inside out, then turned back, so the stitches around the corners get stretched. And since the Vuitton sewing machines are monsters, they tend to make enormous holes and in some cases they show. In most cases they won't tear more. I wouldn't be surprised if that was there from day 1. But I totally understand that it doesn't look nice. I'm afraid they won't consider this a defect though.
Here is a press photo of an Empreinte Multi Pochette, the stitching holes on the side are like little tears:

And this other pic of the underside of the Alma BB handle shows how ruthless those machines are, very pronounced holes:

I bought my Speedy B30 in 2019 and it was seldom used. I just noticed lately that the side straps have lots of bumps and wrinkles on both sides of the vachetta leather. So frustrating considering the amount that I paid for it.

Natural leather can develop wrinkles like that on vertical areas, especially when stored, seldom used. It is less likely to appear when the leather bends and moves while carrying and using the product actively. A fine leather craftsman can "iron" it out more or less, or the leather parts can be replaced altogether by Vuitton. This is not a flaw or a defect at all, rather just the leather developing its own character, and in 4 years it is not that surprising.

I got this speedy a few weeks ago. I noticed this red thread, and the LV associate said this is normal for speedy’s, and to be concerned if it gets loose. Is that correct? It’s very small. Am I being too picky given these are hand made? Thank you

Speedies are put together on an assembly line, it only takes like 3-4 minutes and a new bag is ready from scratch. So the handmade argument does not stand for their highest volume products.
It is true that their sewing machines are so brutal that sometimes the inner thread (the red in this case) can peek through the large hole it punched. But that is a little red dot, not an entire — and clearly loose — thread. Probably won't come apart anytime soon, but this is not a case of magnifying glass paranoia. That thread should not be there at all. You are right.

Can anyone share their experience with taurillon leather wear and tear? I just got a Brazza wallet for travel and noticed that it’s peeling in one of the leather grains. I haven’t used the wallet yet and didn’t notice the peeling with the dark store lighting. Is taurillon leather prone to peeling? Has anyone had theirs repaired?

It is a soft leather, not as stiff and armour-like as Épi, but it still should be very durable. It is a super high quality full grain leather after all. If a grain is peeling, I doubt they can repair it. But they should exchange.
