Hi everyone, this is following my previous post. I went to 2 LV stores today to exchange my alma bb. Both stores only had 2 alma bb in stock today. And, all 4 of those alma bb have red stitches on the bottom and they are in worse condition than mine. In this case would you guys return or exchange the bag?? I am ok with the red stitches showing, however, mine is really poking out a lot.

Well, this seems to be the norm on that kind of bottom  This is why I picked a Rose Ballerine Alma BB. The thread from the inside shows, but since it is the same colour everywhere, it is not visible. But the red screams in the brown environment
And in your pics they are not just showing but also sticking out. As if they wouldn't finish the end seams properly. If I got this bag, I'd return it and try another time from another batch. But strictly in-store, so I can check it.

Thanks

Thank you for your advice! I think that's what I am going to do. Return the bag and try another one from a different batch later.

I just picked up the Alma epi BB yesterday.
At the store I didn't notice it only today in sunlight.
Looks like paint that is cracked. This epi leather is quite stiff also.
I didn't even have worn it yet.

I have older epi bags, but never has seen this before .

No wondering if the coat cracks so easily shall I just ask for a refund.
I am afraid the second bag might have the same issues ?

Any thoughts?

thank you for your reply.
I do like the color, but not sure if it is just a defect with their finish paint.
The stitching of this bag was good and the zipper not waving at all ( I have seen other Alma BB that we’re stitched a bit distorted ).

I think I am not lucky with bags if the stitches are not crooked or uneven, then it is the paint

Yes, the color is beautiful. Did you buy it online or boutique? I'd be bothered by the slight chipping / scratch. Do you think it is just extra paint that can be removed? If it is like a scratch, then I would ask for an exchange.

Purchased directly from the LV men’s store at South Coast Plaza. It has a few anomalies that my other wallet from 2018 doesn’t have. However, that wallet also is a very different design without any curves in the stitching, and it’s ebene canvas.

The L in the Louis Vuitton stamp is pretty wavy. Is this normal due to the grain in the leather?

The LV logo isn’t perfectly centered in the canvas on front / rear and sits a bit low. Only a couple millimeters at most, but worth notating for your keen eyes. Stitching is also imperfect all around, but still quite nice.

The stitching is especially off at the bottom on the front - it curves up as it goes left-to-right, and the lower right corner is a bit sloppy.

Nothing is terrible, but if I were purchasing secondhand, I’d pause and be concerned it may be a fake.

Do you agree, or am I being too picky?

You are a little too picky  This wallet is fine. These are both microscopic. Even a Hermès can have a slight wave like this in the stitching, and the Taïga-like lining is notoriously hard to have a clean heat stamp on. I have like 5 of these, all are a little different. It's OK.

Thanks! I definitely hear you about the differences between pieces. However, the L in Louis Vuitton is bugging me so I’ve decided to take it back this morning to exchange because I just got it yesterday afternoon and the wavy L is a dealbreaker. I’ll never stop seeing it.

I'm glad it got resolved. I mean we can tell you what is typical and what is not, but at the end of the day, if it bothers you, it is best to get another one.

It was ordered online and send to the boutique. After taking the bag home, I was checking the bag in sunlight.
I saw it was a slight chipping , I was really bothered by it. I will bring it back to the store And see what they will say.
Is a defect piece.

I think long long long time ago, the stitching of the LV pieces were very good even stitches and not sloppy.

The L in Louis Vuitton would have bugging me also. Hope you could Change to another piece that has a better L stamp.
