Is this a defect, is this normal for this Chanel item?

Do you think that rip in leather on my new card holder will get worse over time? I wasn't planning on using that compartment but the flap does tilt up a bit even when it's closed. I just got it through a personal shopper and the exchange does not seem like an option.

I wouldn’t be happy about this. Have you spoken to the personal shopper about it? If so what did they say?
If you haven’t I would definitely reach out to them first. Otherwise i would take it to chanel and explain the situation.
I dont think you should be accepting quality defects just because you used a personal shopper. They are still running a business at the end of the day.
Answer to your question is with wear yes I think the rip is likely to get worse. :(

I did ask the personal shopper, and she told me to take it to a boutique to see if they can repair it. I am not too thrilled with that being the only option but I will try to take it to a boutique to see if they can fix it. I am glad this didn't happen with a high price item. I will think twice before using a personal shoppers again!

has she purchased this recently and did she provide you with a receipt? sorry I've never used a Personal shopper so not sure how they work.
I feel like it should be her responsibility to take it to the boutique if she's refusing a refund. But as she's leaving it to you, I would try to get hold of the receipt and maybe they will exchange it for a new one.
I don't think you should be having new card holders repaired but that's just me.
other option would be to dispute it with your bank / credit card as you've been sold a faulty item. Again not sure where you are based but here in the uk they would do a charge back and ask you to return the item to your seller.

She did purchase it recently (within return period) but sent it with the receipt marked so I can't exchange it. The transaction was done though Zelle transfer so the dispute is not an option either. While I wish she was more helpful with a defective item, I guess that was the risk I was taking using a personal shopper from instagram with no disclosure about her policy. Lesson learned

What do you mean the receipt is marked? Is this normal practice for personal shoppers? And why does this stop you exchanging?
Also did she purchase from the same boutique you will be returning at?

This is tricky because it sounds like she’s protected herself pretty well. :(

A part of the barcode, advisor and client info is marked out with a permanent marker which I guess is to prevent exchange/return. I do have an option to bring it to the boutique she bought it from but I think I will be better off bringing it to the flagship.

If you think the flag ship is best then try that. If that doesn’t work id consider going to the boutique she got it from with the receipt and mentioning the personal shopper. They may be able to locate the purchase and help you even with it marked.
Chances are they will know who she is, as she’ll likely make a high amount of purchases with them.
Please let us know how you get on as I'm interested to see how chanel handles this.

Hello,

I’m thinking of purchasing my first Coco Handle and wanted to know if the side seam on the bag I am about to buy was finished properly, please help.

The first pic is from the bag I want to purchase and the second pic is from another handbag up for sale, any advice is greatly appreciated

It’s hard to tell in the photos. Can they send a pic with the flap open to see the seam better ?

Thanks for responding, I’m concerned about the way the outside looks, in pic 1 you can see the seam whereas in pic 2 it’s hidden on the inside of the bag, is this normal

That is how they started stitching them from 2021 (I believe) -the same month they discontinued authenticity cards. Thus, newer versions are made only this way. If you prefer the older style, you will need to buy those made pre June 2021.
