This looks like a normal wear and tear and Chanel will not do anything about it (nor should they as this is truly normal). They can offer a spa service (paid) for the bag.

TL;DR I’m looking for advice/perspectives on whether the discoloration/peeling on the strap of my classic flap are normal signs of wear for a bag that isn’t even a year old.
I purchased my red medium flap (22S) in April last year. This is my one and only Chanel bag, and I’m unsure whether this discoloration and slight peeling on some sections of the chain strap is normal wear. I carry my bag on weekends and nights out (probably 2x a week max). I’m pretty careful with it, always storing in the dust bag when not in use, and wiping down with a clean, barely damp cloth with a few drops of water on it after each use. I got caught in the rain with it once, but dried it off as soon as I could get inside. Is this normal, and what can I do to prevent additional damage? Thanks all.

Sorry about your bag. I think it is part of normal wear but to happen so quickly would concern me too. Have you talked to your SA? I would also suggest not using any water at all on your bag even a few drops. Just use the microfiber cloth that came with the bag and dry wipe it. Unless you want to avoid color transfer, then you can use a alcohol free baby wipe to wipe just the back of your bag.

It looks like normal wear and tear like the corners were exposed to something it made contact with (like color transfer).
This would not bother me. I think this is natural with lambskin. But perhaps a 2mm insert will help retain overall structure better. Having said that it is a soft leather and it is white so if you're very concerned going forward, I would go for a different color.
Since it's all on the corners, Chanel might say it's normal wear. This is why I don't go lambskin with light colors. It's too much trouble to carry. Besides it's a WOC, so you carry this bag close to body and with constant movements, wear would happen.

There always seems to be SOMETHING whether it be the leather quality, crooked flap, dents, inner lining air pockets, flawed structure, the quilts/stitching doesn't align, etc.
My questions is, which of these is most important/nonnegotiable for you? I looked at many BRAND NEW classic flaps from the boutique over the course of a year (untouched and straight out of the white box)..rejected 6 of them and finally found the perfect one...perfect caviar leather that is puffy and shiny and saturated black, perfect structure, perfect everything except a very minor loose thread on the back upper edge. Now I have another one to choose from but that one has just pretty good leather (but inferior to the other one) and pretty good structure overall (the sides aren't as nice and even).
Which would you choose? The one with absolutely perfect everything except a minor loose thread on the back edge or the one with just pretty good everything with no loose thread?
I want to emphasize that I have looked at countless classic flaps and in no way settling...more like came to the conclusion this is as perfect as it's going to get lol

A loose thread on the back would not bother me. I’d go for the first one.
Thank you for the reply! That is the one I chose and everything about the bag is literally perfect except that minor loose thread I spotted afterwards. I wanted to make sure and ask for opinions because my thought process was loose threads can be easily repaired later on if anything but the leather quality and structure not so much.
Hi, I got a WOC from a personal shopper last 2021, and I’m not sure if it is normal to have the bottom of the bag stitched unevenly and the side of the strap is sort of peeling? Is this a defect? Is there anyway to stop the peeling and would it have a big effect in the long run? I have only used the bag 3 times and I do baby it. Thanks
I received this beautiful bag today and after carefully inspecting everything I took off the tag which means I can't return anymore. My husband took one look at it and said it's defective because CC is really crooked and it should've never passed quality control and that I shouldn't have taken the tag off and returned instead. Am I crazy or is it really not that noticeable?? I mean maybe a little but I didn't think anyone would notice. He thinks people will think the bag is fake but I've seen much worse examples imo and it didn't bother me before he pointed it out 
It doesn’t look crooked at all to me! It’s a gorgeous bag, enjoy it!
