Is the bag wearing me?

I think you look great with the 35cm! I agree with the other posters that this would not be an evening or formal bag, but would be terrific for work or any sort of daytime activity. I find my 35cm kelly perfect for work since it fits everything I need to carry without having to worry about editing what I’m bringing. Here’s a pic of my 35cm at work :)IMG_1524191480.751122.jpg

Can I just ask how heavy your beautiful K35 is in barenia? The way you carry it is exactly how I envisage carrying mine if I were to purchase. I wonder about the weight. Thanks.
In all honesty, its not the lightest of bags :) But its not the heaviest I've had either. I found my Barenia 35 Birkins to be much heavier to deal with and I ended up letting those go over the last decade. They actually hurt my body to carry around! With this Barenia K35, I find the wider canvas strap makes a huge difference for me in making the bag size and weight (when loaded up) feel comfortable. Slinging it cross body and a little behind me is very comfortable. Or wearing it shorter over the shoulder so it hits ABOVE my hip, not AT my hip makes it look better size-wise. Also very comfortable. All to say, I find it very manageable. If weight is a big concern for you in general, I find Kellys lighter than Birkins. Box the lightest leather. And style-wise, a Plume or an unlined bag like a Victoria to be the lightest weight in construction. (Have never owned a double sens or GP but those must be light too?). Hope that helps

Super helpful thanks! I have a VN B35 and it is quite heavy. I use it during the day at weekends and love it but I would like something a little lighter for the shoulder option. I've looked at Chapman's and they have a strap that would be a wonderful match for the VO K35. They look like great pieces. I do think larger bags need to be worn on shorter straps to look good. The other Hermes styles are not quite "me" although I do like the Halzan I was looking for a dark barenia - black or VO - and it only comes in the brown.

I am biased towards 35s but think you look awesome! Do you love it?
I have a Barenia Sellier 35 that i have used for many years as a workhorse bag around the world (i'm a filmmaker). I'm 5'3. Is it big? Yes. Does it look kind of cool? I think so. I do wear it cross body a lot in the field and I don't baby it and it has been everywhere...India, Nepal, Scotland, Italy...you name it. Do I think many folks here would kindly advise me it's TOO big for me? Probably  But I love it and it works for me. Here I am at a film festival where my film was opening - Im wearing it crossbody with a strap I ordered from Chapman's in the UK. I love this strap...it adds to the "field" look of the bag plus it is adjustable and very practical. I also wear this Kelly 35 Sellier on a very SHORT strap which ends up carrying really well just a little under my arm pit believe it or not. I have found that carrying it using the standard H strap length hits me at the hip which I believe makes the 35 Kelly (sellier or retourne) pretty unflattering due to its size.

I would say go for the 28! I’m 5’4 (if you’re around my height that might help you a bit on your decision) and have tried both the 32 and 28 and for me even the 32 seems a tiny bit big (especially crossbody).
