My screen name gives a clue on my preferred designer. However, that was nearly 16 years ago. I still love the Pradas from that era and at the time, I found the LV monogram bags too common place and tacky. Of course that had more to do with the fact that fake Speedys and Neverfulls were on every arm no matter what direction you looked.

Times and tastes changing, I find myself enjoying picking up the occasional vintage LV monogram or damier bags and SLG. I always loved the suhali and epi leather lines and have several bags and SLG in those leathers. The past few years though, I've come to embrace the vintage LV monograms. That said, I refuse to own a Speedy because of the massive number of counterfeits out there. This vintage Theda is one of my absolute favorite LV monogram bags. Doesn't look like the stereotyped LV monogram bags. Just looks edgy and cool.

I adored this bag and regret so much selling it
I can't begin to list the things I've sold that I regretted selling. Not just bags, but scarves, designer jewelry and other jewelry. A couple of scarves and one particular diamond ring were things I kicked myself so much over that I went on the prowl to replace them. In one case, I went to the shop where I'd sold the ring and bought the ring back! Also spent a good bit of time replacing some of my favorite Hermes scarves. That's a lot of why I have so many bags I need to thin out, but can't decide which ones to sell. I can't deal with "seller's regret" these days.

I love monogram on SLGs. Most of my clothing and purses are black, so I love looking into my purse and seeing the peek of monogram. For bags, monogram is just not for me. Wouldn't suit my style and is too flashy.

On others, it's dependent on the person. My best friend and my aunties all wear it very well. I've also seen lots of strangers where I've admired it with their style/outfit. I've also seen it overdone and look tacky, so I think it all depends on how you style it.

I think it's very recognisable but not necessarily flashy. Yes there are a lot of fakes out there but I don't care if people think mine is. In some situations I'd prefer they think it's fake. Less likely to want to steal or snatch a fake bag than real and some people in my family I'd rather they think I bought fake than knew what ridiculous amount of money I've spent on bags...

I think Louis Vuitton has become uncomfortably common. When everyone you see out in public is carrying the same bag, it’s very Stepford. I bought an Emilie wallet in noir empriente a couple of weeks ago and That will be it as far as my Louis Vuitton collection goes. I pride myself on being unique and unique is not carrying the same bag as everyone else. It’s not exhausting, it’s just having your own personal taste and style and not wanting to conform to the taste of the masses.
