I’ve never been a fan of LV because the logo always seems so front and center. I’ve heard they’re good quality, but I’ve never seriously looked at them or owned one before. A couple days ago though, my daughter let slip that my husband picked up a Neverfull for me as a Mother’s Day gift. And I do like it. I do. And I’m thankful for the gift and I’m certainly not going to complain about it to my husband. But I’m also really worried I won’t use it because of the logos stamped all over it. Does anyone have any thoughts? I know logos are personal preference and some like them, while others don’t. But do you think it’s too “look at me”?

Welcome to TPF! What a sweet hubby! Is that the exact neverfull he got you? Honestly I don't think the average person would know it's LV as they are used to seeing the other prints. If I wasn't on TPF, I probably wouldn't recognize it myself unless I was just staring at the bag.

The most important thing is if you like it, don't worry about what others think. If you don't, maybe have a discussion with hubby and exchange it for something you love. I'm guessing he would prefer for you to have a bag you'll actually use. Take a look at the epi bags if you prefer more discrete logos.

I think so - my daughter took me to the site he ordered it from (I know - I should let surprises be surprises, but the kid in me can’t seem to stop myself!) If it’s not readily recognizable, I think I’ll just leave things as-is. I do like the look of the bag a lot - just not used to the logos. I love bags, but admit most of mine (except the evening ones) are very plain and would probably be considered boring. Anyway, thanks for the welcome! It’s a whole new world on this forum and I love reading about everyone’s thoughts on, and experiences with, the different brands!

That's a beautiful and unusual bag for your hubby to buy! It was a limited edition. I know exactly what you mean. I was very anti-LV logo for awhile and my very first LV has a non-traditional logo. But that's what I think about this bag. People may not recognise it as LV unless they know of this release. And I've also grown to love the traditional logo pattern, I now own a few, albeit smaller pieces like belt and SLG. Maybe it's best to wait til you see it in person and you'll know then how you feel? Things can change a lot when you see a bag in person.

Of course at the end of the day you have to be happy, and if you're not comfortable with the bag, I'm sure your husband would prefer you exchanged for something you enjoy more. Definitely don't feel pressure to keep the bag just based on what we all say here. You'll know best how you feel :) happy Mothers day in advance!

I personally don't care for the traditional brown Monogram canvas. I hate the color brown and it does not exist in my wardrobe... so none of the flagship bags appeal to me.

I have empreinte leather bags and the new jacquard denim Speedy 25. I don't think there is anything wrong with the monogram or logo prints at all. I don't think they are flashy either.

It's all about what YOU like. If you like the monogram bags, then enjoy them to the fullest. Who cares what other people think

I don't think a lot of people know Since1854 logo unless very into LV.
So use it worry freely lol

I am such a fan of the 1854 logo so much that I have shoes, boots, speedy and scarf in the navy blue print pattern. The fact that its different and a limited pattern should make it very exciting to use it. Enjoy your new beauty.

I think there is quite a lot new stuff that LV releases nowadays which looks really tacky and flashy, but surely not the originally brown monogram canvas. Its the opposite to me: monogram canvas is one of the most classic styles a woman can wear. Its like the black quilted chanel bag, it was „always“ there and will always be, its THE classic!

I’m obviously a minority being a guy who doesn’t wear bags, but I’ve put off buying LV for years because of this subject. I don’t see the point of spending that money on something which doesn’t have a tell tale sign of what it is, which is why I bought this below. Not flashy, but still shouts about itself enough to warrant. If that makes sense?

understated flash.

I can’t recall if I’ve responded to this thread but my opinion has slightly changed over the years. I used to have just one mono smaller piece. But after visiting the LV special exhibit in NYC a few years ago which detailed the history of travel and the lv bags and luggage that went along with that travel, I developed more appreciation for the mono (and other) canvas. I’ve aged, I also appreciate the lightweight canvas. Mono has become so common I don’t think it would be considered flashy anymore.

Exactly! I also see a lot of other brands put a lot of effort into their logo/monogram canvas pieces. I think monogram is a true classic

I did receive it for Mother’s Day and I really like it. I’m still not sure how much I’ll use it but we’ll see… I’ll definitely use it a few times at least, if only to make my husband happy. It’s the perfect size for a catch-all, isn’t it? And with the less recognizable monogram, I think I’ll be comfortable carrying it… plus, I really like the colour!
