Is it still worth getting the Neverfull in 2020?

I think you should buy what you like and stop watching YouTube, LOL. I have never heard of School of Influence (I may be too old), but I just tried to listen to one of the videos, and I couldn't take it for more than a minute. I'm not sure what makes this person an expert. It looks like a lot of the videos are on how to get a rich man. If that is your focus, by all means listen to these videos. I wonder if anywhere she mentions that rich is not good enough, but they must also be generous :)

I have the DE Neverfull and love it. I do not wear it everyday, but I like having it. I also admire it when I see it on others. My area is not saturated with them, so that may make the difference. I don't believe it was ever made to be classy on it's own, but it can be defined as such depending on the class of the wearer, LOL. It is a functional tote, and the print has been around for over a hundred years and is still going strong.

The only thing I'd consider is how you plan on expanding your collection and what's already in it. I have both a Neverfull and an Artsy, and I don't really need both, but I wasn't really thinking about how they'd steal wears from one another.

I guess its pretty much unanimous

Agree that I should get it if I like it, but it is a big purchase and I don’t want to regret it so I want to be extra sure. I don’t know why I’m hesitating, I wanted that bag forever.

Thanks for your inputs everyone!

Follow up question: I originally wanted DE, but heard that DE has issues and I’m going to get Alma BB in DE anyway. Should I get the mono NF or get the DE anyway?

I have only had my DE Neverfull for about a year, but I have no issues. LV changed the leather a couple of years ago, and it is much more pliable than the older leather that was prone to cracking. Any bag can have issues, though. I prefer the DE because it is more carefree and will stay looking newer longer than the monogram. I'm not a fan of the way the straps on the monogram Neverfull age. Either way you go, you can always have your bag repaired if there is an issue.

It was my first LV. The thing that bothered me was the thin shoulder strap. I’m a teacher and used it everyday for 7 years to and from work. It DUG into my shoulders like crazy and really did a number on my posture. I now use the speedy b 30. The thicker strap and the crossbody style is much better for my body. The Neverfull can fit A LOT and it is easy to overfill it (which I did for years...which did some damage to my posture). It did look brand new after 7 years of being lugged to and from work and thrown under my desk every day. It truly is a work horse. Just make sure you are ok with the thin shoulder straps... resist the urge to overfill the bag!

I’m in the minority here, but my vote is no. I considered buying the neverfull a few years ago at the beginning of my handbag collecting “hobby.” Now, I’m glad I didn’t buy it. It is ubiquitous in my city and frankly speaking, seeing it everywhere would take the joy out of carrying it for me. It just wouldn’t feel special. Furthermore, after owning leather bags from various high end fashion houses including LV, the canvas just doesn’t feel luxe. I’ve sold my LV canvas pieces and don’t intend to buy any canvas pieces in the future; however, I do love LV’s epi leather and mahina leather.

Good luck with your decision. If you do decide to buy it, and it doesn’t work out for you it’s one of those bags you can probably sell without losing too much money.

Absolutely, positively, unequivocally, YES. My monogram Neverfull GM was my first Vuitton bag that I actually purchased in the store, and I'll never get rid of it. Looking back, sometimes I wish I had gotten the MM size, but like you, I had been eyeing a specific bag for such a long time. And the GM does serve a purpose when I'm taking a small trip or need to carry a lot of things. I wouldn't change it. Now I have a monogram MM and an azur MM. To me, a Neverfull is the PERFECT bag. My mom even said, "Everyone has one of those! Why those bags?" But there's a REASON everyone has one....it's just a great bag.

Buy what you love.

I don't own a NF, but I own an Artois and an Anjou.

The Artois is the best travel bag Ive ever owned, It zips and has traveled greatly and still looks brand new.

The Anjou is great, but doesn't zip. What I love is that it folds flat and travels easily.

Huge fan of both

Neverfull MM DE was my very first LV bag 5 years ago and it still looks brandnew. I used non-stop for the first two years. I liked it so much that I bouth DA in MM as well.
Neverfull is extremely popular and practical. You will have to search your heart and ask yourself the question: what is my purpose in life: buy handbags to reflect my desire to be unique or to buy bags that will align with your lifestyle? I love satchel bags but they don’t work for me if they don’t have straps. I.e I love Birkins but they simply do not work for me. I need to be realistic to purchase bags that I love and that I will use. This thing of buying bags based on what other ppl think is a endless black hole that costs a lot of money. I am in favor of watching videos to hear other people’s experiences on wear and tear, or pros and cons of a bag. But keep in mind that there’s always subjectivity to account for. Good luck deciding

Asking myself the same question but for me... When I initially wanted it 700 was too expensive ! Now it's 1430!!

But I'm glad I waited.... Because now I know I want the DE with rose ballerine lining. I even have the samorga organizer for it already.

Now it's just a matter of getting it preloved or getting it in Europe or Hawaii to offset the cost

As a broke college student years ago I always admired the neverfull. Now that I can afford it, I’m thinking of getting it as my first designer bag.

But after much research via youtube and this forum, now I’m not too sure. Is it still worth getting the neverfull in 2020, knowing that its overdone and basically everyone has one? I liked it because totes are versatile, and I like the pattern and red lining... (my second choice is either artois, anjou or st louis, but I’m not a fan of the shiny surface of goyardine canvas)

Sidenote, has anyone seen the School of Affluence video on bags that are not classy? Two of bags I’m after are in the list so now I’m not too sure haha :’)
The neverfull is popular for a reason. I’ve had mine in DA for over 9 year and it’s taken its fair share of beating (3kids, water spilled...) and when I used it last weekend my husband said it looks brand new. I added another neverfull from My world tour collection last year and use it a lot as well.
the same cannot be said about the quality of Goyard canvas.
As for school of affluence, I cannot stand that “wannabe classy” lady. Botox, lip injections and purses don’t make a person classy. Class is an attitude

I just buy what I love. I have five NF’s. I bought my MM’s between 2009-2011. They were $700 but the Mon Mono was $1200. I bought two GM’s over the past year and I love them! they just seem smushier and lighter for some reason. Money doesn’t equal class to me. I watched her makeup video recently and she used at least 10 products on her face (not counting washing/exfoliating). I see so many young girls with the”pancake” makeup look. It may look good on camera but not in real life! Less is more
