Is goyard st louis worth the money?

How long have you had them?
i have my gm for over a year and my pm about 6 months. i don't use them exclusively either.
i can tell you that i am not careful with them. the gm has been packed full and used as a carry on for car trips. the pm has been on the floor and in the grass.
for me the mail selling point is not whether or not they are indestructible it is that they are so light weight and really fun.

While I balked initially at the thought of paying a 4-figure sum for a canvas bag that in all honesty has pretty fragile handles and corners, I am so in love with the bag aesthetically anyway that I just don't care about the price I paid for it anymore. Also planning to get one in the lovely grey!

I own both, and actually love the St Louis more! The LV is great for lugging around heavier things, heck I even use it as a school bag, but you see it EVERYWHERE. I try to use my SL only when I know I won't be lugging around much, but even when I do carry around heavier loads, I've never had any problems. What makes me love the SL more is how unique it is, and the beautiful pattern on the fabric. Almost every time I wear it, someone compliments it and asks about the brand!

For me, this bag has been so worth the money! I use a base shaper and a purse insert, and I use it every single day as a schoolbag. I have to say I'm surprised at how well it holds up. I go pretty hard on it with books and my laptop, I usually have to put it on the ground under my desk and it has been squished in the trunk for roadtrips. There's barely wear on the corners (just a tiny bit of paint wear) and there's a tiny bit of creasing on the sealant of the handles (not the actual leather). I'm fine with the fact that someday I'll have to send it in for corner patches and handles, but I love it so much I don't mind!

I just bought my first SL and am waiting for its arrival. I know very little about the brand. Also, I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake in deciding not to add initials or art to the bag. Do you SL owners have initials on yours?? Is that something that can be done at a later time?

I have my initials but no stripes. I personally love my initials, I have them in the top center and they're a fun pop of color and not too flashy. You can also carry the bag with the plain side out, so you have options. I think they are a lot stricter now on bringing bags back in to get initials. Pretty sure the bag has to have no defects, must have some proof of purchase, and can't be more than a few months old.

Oh cool, thanks for the information! [emoji4]

As for wear/tear, I found these pictures from a recently sold St Louis GM on eBay. It looks like the buyer got a best offer in under the asking price of $690. So they may actually have been able to get it around $500-600 and plan on taking it to a boutique to have leather corners sewn on and the edgestain redone on the handles.

Hi all -
I am thinking about buying my first Goyard soon, and I remember that the Goyard store in SF used to accept order via email. Does anyone know whether you can do this in the Paris store as well? My brother in travelling to Europe soon, and he would prefer it if I order the bag beforehand and pay for it and for him to simply pick it up. I tried going to the Goyard's website but couldn't find any email address listed.

TA everyone!
