Is goyard st louis worth the money?

I recommend the Goyard with all my heart. There have been so many open top totes that I have tried, from the Neverfull to Chanel-even McQ and a brief foray into Henri Bendels just to find that bag that does it. Has a reasonably existant bottom, light enough to not make me feel like the lady with the house on her back from Labyrinth (dating myself :), shoulder straps not uncomfy and just has that "thing" that makes me smile. I bought the Neverfull twice. Each time it just didn't rock my world, and I really thought I had gotten the best that was out there. I was a sad, sad hoarder until the ST Louis PM. Perfect size for those things you absolutely need, like a million little leather goods from Hermes in different colors, a sweater, a kindle, a water bottle and with space to spare. Light as a feather and squishy, but not too squishy. I work in a suburb of Chicago, and while I got the "looks" for the LV, this one brings no stares but I know how special it is. Also good for digging around while I am driving! Hope this helps!

This. For all of the same reasons :smile1: I love my St. Louis PM! I can honestly say it's been the happiest bag purchase for me in a long time. I have the red. It's lightweight, looks & feels good, it is easy to dig around in while you are driving, it fits what I need it to fit(like little H goodies lol), and I don't feel like I have to baby it either. It has a lively look to it that makes me happy too. :smile1:
I'm going to get mine personalized, but I've been putting off sending it in because I don't want to be without it! I guess the only solution to that is to buy another one :D

DITTO, I have purchased the Neverfull Damier and Monogram both in MM and GM and have given away or sold them all. There is just something about GOYARD... I'm trying to decide between the red and the gray pm for my next investment.

You can also consider Moynat 'Cabas Initial'. The price is less than EUR50 more than Goyard Saint Louis. The personalisation also cost a little more than Goyard (This is in Jan 2013 when I bought my first Moynat bag in Paris.) but is done in a cooler way than what Goyard can offer. Moynat stores are almost opposite Goyard in both London and Paris (coincidence?)

Also it's the perfect gift for yourself from Europe as Moynat currently only has 2 locations in the world (excluding the pop up and exhibition they are doing now)

I agree. I have had a white goyard PM for 4 years and i love it! it's understated yet super luxe and totally functional. i have 2 kids, trust me. i don't use it daily or as my baby bag, just for when i'm out or at work, etc. no issues w wear and tear. good luck!

It's my every day bag :) I have put all kinds of things in it and I prefer it for travel because it's so lightweight. However, I took a good look at it yesterday and the leather near the handles are cracked. So sad. I had no issues with scuffs and I was surprised the exterior held up very well :)

Sad to say this but I regretted my St Louis purchase almost immediately. For the amount of money the bag costs dare I say it feels cheap, I really wish I would have went with a Neverfull or a full leather tote for a less expensive brand. I do love the look of the Goyard monogram print tho.

I am mad for my St. Louis Goyard. Just returned from 2 weeks in France. The French love this tote, as do I - so delightfully lightweight and distinct!

LOVE my St. Louis. I have the pm in red, green, navy and black an fair black gm. I also have the gm damier and azur neverfull and a mm mon mon and an epi neverfull. I use my St. Louis constantly and would not trade them.

I FINALLY got my St. Louis PM back from repair. I sent it three months ago!

The straps look good. They also added leather corners to my bag. To be honest, I don't know why they don't just add leather corners to the bag.

I'm sure some "fashionista" will think my bag is fake because of its alterations, but it beats having a six month old bag with cracked straps and worn corners.

Congratulations on getting your bag back in good condition! I'm pleased to hear that they do a good job as I use my St. Louis PM all the time and it won't be long before I will need to do the same.

I adore Goyard because of the quality and artistry of the bags, as well as the "non flashy" factor. I wouldn't care what other people thought of my bag (especially fashionistas) - but that is true hallmark of a Goyard fan IMHO! All class.

I love the St. Louis in red and am strongly thinking of buying one because as much as I know a nf would be great I don't like the fact that everyone has one. My concern is am I going to have issues right away with this bag with handles cracking?

My experience is that when you purchase the bag, they act like repairs are easy/not a big deal. However, once your handles start cracking AND holes develop in the corners (canvas is thinner than older bags) it takes a big back and forth to get it repaired.

They tried to charge me for repairs too. For a bag purchased in a Goyard boutique less than a year ago!

I paid for the international shipping and insurance.

If you love Goyard, you put up with this. But make sure you purchase your bag with eyes wide open. The quality is VERY different from 5+ years ago.

Thank you for the info. I think I'm going to pass on goyard. I really don't want to have to deal with issues on a bag less than a year old.

i think people's experiences are very variable. i have a st louis gm and pm and have had no issues. the bags look great and are light as a feather. i am very happy and would buy another.
