Is anyone else shopping out of fear/stress of prices increasing?

I seem to be doing that with everything. Im panicking whil shopping online because everything goes out of stock so fast since everyone is on lockdown and killing time shopping online.

Lately its been more relaxed and I have been questioning myself if I really need the item plus I had a no buy month challenge.

With designer I would make a wishlist and buy the things u want when u can and not let it depend on price increases. When u have the money go for it.

You are not alone! I spent 2020 selling off a huge chunk of my collection while I could still get good resale value (GG Marmont bag, LV Croissette, YSL Sac de Jour, YSL envelope clutch) and reinvested in other bags right before most of their prices went up (Chanel 19, Chanel business affinity, LV Pochette Metis, YSL lou camera bag). I felt like a lunatic, but I'm happy I did as every bag I bought this year now has gone up in price. I want a neutral Chanel flap or coco handle, but am waiting on the fall collections before I invest. I won't be buying as much Chanel anymore because the prices are just not smart investments at this point.
Hi can I ask how your YSL envelope bag wore?

I have more anxiety about having too much stuff (especially stuff that I don’t use often). So no, this is not me at all.

I do have a few things more on my wishlist even though I own 12 luxury bags.
But the excitement of getting those new bags has dwindled since out of those 12 bags, I find myself mostly reaching for 6 of them.

So it’s more of: will I feel ok seeing that bag sitting, collecting dust? Or could I use the money to travel once things go back to normal?
It’s boring, but my bank account is happy.

I’ve wanted a pair of two carat diamond stud earrings for some time and told myself I’d only purchase them once I published my first novel (so close now!) but then I started noticing some significant price increases in February on the diamond price index (!) and figured with an economic rebound the prices would be climbing... so I pulled the trigger early and now I’m really glad I did. I just purchased on blue Nile. I checked their prices today and the same diamond pair is about $ 1.5K more expensive (eeeeek!). So glad I bought when I did.

Congrats on your novel and on your earrings! I don’t buy stuff bc I’m thinking about beating price increases. I’d rather take the time to make sure it’s what I want. . . Even if it’s a purchase I’ve been planning, I’d rather have the extra time. But, I do sometimes kick myself in retrospect — like why couldn’t I have decided I wanted x item, last year lol.

Good thing you were able to “save” 1.5k!
Earrings/jewelry are my weakness. I haven’t bought any luxury bags for years now but I keep buying more earrings even though I have so many now. At least jewelry all fits into one box and doesn’t take up a lot of closet space like bags

I definitely have. I started my luxury journey in the beginning of 2019, and since then have purchased 15 bags, 12 SLGS’s and 8 scarfs. (Yikes!). However, I look at it as I built my entire collection in 2 years vs. over a long period of time. I have mostly classic pieces, but do have some trendy too. I live in a small town where no one even knows what LV is, and thinks Chanel only sells perfume; so trendy bags don’t really bother me in the long run. If I like it I’ll wear it whether in style or not. All the price increases have probably contributed to some of the buying, and being at home due to COVID.

I wish these prices stop increasing or for temporary at least until the pandemic is over and everyone is back to full-time work so they can keep producing more of these items out. Also with theses increases, I wish my work would give me a pay raise to keep up with the luxury good items! LOL. But it's just a thought... and something to be hopeful for. i'm sure this is every girl's dream to get a pay increase while luxury good increase goes up as well.

Same, I just got into it again because I don't have someone try to tell me how I can spend my money when it's MY money I earned and worked hard for to get what I want.

I think if I really wanted something I’d snap it up but I always tend to buy in waves. Months of no purchases or addictions to bags and then wham! Chanel bags aren’t suitable for my lifestyle (mostly work) but I’ve been bitten severely by the H bug. I still love LV and carry my babies and slg’s to work every day though. I like how the H accessories are under the radar and I really love their leather - specifically Clemence - too! So squishy and it smells so good.

I am sort of the same. This year, so far, I haven’t purchased any bags. I did buy 2 rings though.

However, last year I sold bags and bought 3 new ones.

Currently, I do have a bag on my wish list, but I am still considering.
