Is anyone else shopping out of fear/stress of prices increasing?

Yes...I’ve bought more clothes, shoes and also more luxury handbags (one Chanel and one LV) this year even though I’m still hardly going out. I’ve also sold a couple of handbags and am still in the process of selling two more. I think I’m getting to a state of satisfaction with my collection. I’m somewhat motivated by price increases, because I don’t want to pay more for Chanel than the current exorbitant prices. I have one more Chanel bag to go and then I’ll get off the hamster wheel. If I don’t browse or keep up with the new collections then I won’t be tempted.
yes to all of this! have purchased a ton of clothes and shoes! I wanted a particular Chanel bag but missed getting it before the increase which I am not happy about. so its on my list, but I need to find out when the next increase is so I can target purchasing it before that happens. As I originally posted this thread- I am motivated by the increases and trying to get infront of them!

I wish I could say it’s glamourous stuff haha! I have a bought a few bags and SLGs, probably because I’m doing less in person shopping and sale goggle shopping. That and leggings - the Joe Fresh ones are easy to pick up at Shoppers when you need to get soap, toilet paper and almond butter :graucho:
hey necessities are all good as well! they are essential:biggrin:

I've noticed that too. I wonder if the seller is getting paid full price (+ bonus) for what was paid for the more popular items?
For example, I see those LV mini pochettes selling 30%+ over retail. Did the seller get a portion of that, or it all profit to FP?

2020 I was totally supporting my luxury goods, but with fewer purchases that were on my "waitlist". I am tired of these price increases and not letting it trigger me to spend when they want me to spend.

For example, my SA at Cartier told me there will be another price increase possibly on the item I want. Oh well, too bad. I cannot afford it now, so I will have to wait.
I think Fashionphile takes at least a 20% commission, so everyone wants to make at least their money back. Many ppl think bags are an investment and refuse to accept a lower price. The same ppl that pay the high prices also think is an investment, so there we are.

I have sold to Fashionphile in the past and unless you are selling something for 10s of thousands of dollars they offer you a set amount of money- its not like a consignment where your get a percentage of the sale. That is very reasonable. I just find their prices on items to be ridiculous. I did a test too. I submitted a quote request to sell a brand new LV Mini deauville I just purchased (when I submitted the quote request the bag was sold out at Louis Vuitton). A brand new purse they offered me $1,600. They were selling the exact same bag for $3,000 on their website. Thats a huge difference. Don't get me wrong. I get that they are a business and need to make money. I don't work for free. My only point is they seem to be raising their prices on items quite a bit more than in the past. I started to see a change after they partnered with Neiman Marcus. I would not advise against purchasing from them. I think they are reputable and you can sometimes find a deal or a unique bag. I just would tell people to do their due diligence and research before purchasing a bag from Fashionphile as it may be available elsewhere cheaper.

i agree with you about FP. I never sell to them but I do purchase from them every once in a while. They seem to have a better Chanel selection than other resellers. I have noticed that when you return an item and they list it again, it‘s marked up significantly. I returned a Chanel bag recently and it was re-listed at $225 higher than the price I paid!

I have noticed that too! I think that if you bought it at 10 or 20% off but then return it resets the discount calendar and starts back up at original price vs going back to the discount you purchased it at.

I visited my boutique a few days before V-day. I was told "some items" will have another price increase. At that time, I was looking at JUC w/dia and debating on the plain one.

Increase on which item at Cartier? I think my SA was saying no increase until May possibly. Certain brand price increases trigger me for sure. Chanel’s pricing has become insanity. If I knew it was going to go up this much, I would’ve made some purchases before the last increase. I am curious when their next increase will be...

You may have just inspired me to get my first Ferragamo bag!
Oh, go for it. They are classic and not so trendy like LV, so not everywhere. Look at the printed bags and scarf I bought this summer. Gorgeous in person, I get tons of compliments each time I wear them.
