Is anyone else shopping out of fear/stress of prices increasing?

I was trying to shop for a Kelly out of fear of price increase and I failed. Hermes is too exclusive for me, and I can't keep playing the game.
I changed my thinking and after reading some blogs I decided to spend my money on more personal luxury. I'm now purchasing luxury, Irish linen sheets, sustainable eiderdown duvets, and silk charmeuse duvet covers. I love how they are a true luxury in a most personal way. I look forward to getting into bed at night and luxuriating in the fact that I love my bed linens.
It's such an intimate personal luxury that no handbag brand has ever given to me.

Great choice! I agree, sometimes we forget about other luxuries that add more to our personal well-being rather than merely status and wealth displaying. This week we’re getting a new bed mattress, the other one is quite old and needed to be replaced, and I’m so happy about it as this would improve our sleep quality! I remember when I purchased for the first time nice silky bedsheets for our home, each time I was going to bed I felt so pampered.

Can you recommend the linen sheets you purchased? I have been searching for good linen sheets but the reviews are all over the place.

I purchased them online from Ferguson's in Ireland. I bought the mid-range set. I'm going to purchase the top-of-the-line set, which have to be special ordered. I have a set of expensive Italian linen sheets also, but I prefer Irish linen.

Oh man, there's nothing like crawling into great bed linens at night. I bought a sheet set from Boll & Branch the day after Christmas in 2020, and they are soooo soft! They were already on clearance, plus they were having a Christmas 25 percent off sale sitewide. I got them cos I was tired of buying sheets every few months due to them shrinking so badly they didn't fit anymore. One of the best purchases I've ever made. Having those in addition to my latex mattress and pillow make bedtime blissful!

Absolutely! I stayed at a hotel recently and the sheets were so incredible I swore to go home and find new ones immediately. I am fed up with buy new sheets several times a year. Which Boll and Branch sheets did you get? I've heard good things about them from bloggers but all the feedback was from paid promotion so I was skeptical on the quality. I've been looking at Quince too, but I can't trust reviews.

Hi. I know you didn’t ask me…but I thought I’d make a recommendation to roughlinen.com (based out of San Francisco) I have purchased duvet/sheet sets, towels, napkins, table cloth, bag, scarves and dish towels from them. I don’t know how they would compare to Ferguson’s (which I looked up and they are beautiful).

Thank you!! I need as many suggestions as possible. I’m also a Californian so I like to shop local.

I've been lusting after a Four Seasons bathrobe longer than anything Hermes and i still can't pull the trigger!

Tried to buy Dior before the last increase, couldn't make up my mind. I liked the Caro bag in that beautiful blush but was going back and forth. The increase happened and I am over it lol. If I am meant to get it, it will happen but if not I will be ok. I have moved on to my latest crush- jewelry by Messika! They have already increased their prices this year  which I am over. If these pieces keep pulling at my heart strings- I will pull the trigger!

I got what I considered a missing piece from my Chanel collection - black caviar jumbo to replace the black patent I sold. Some of this was motivated by the crazy price increases because I knew I wouldn’t be interested in buying one at a higher price later.

That being said, the urgency to buy was for that one piece I knew I wanted. I don’t feel motivated in the least to buy anything else to fight a price increase. If I want x later, I’ll evaulate it based on the price / value at that time. But, candidly, handbags are getting too expensive for what they are - leather sacks to carry things. I’d rather shift those larger dollars into jewelry, more travel, updating my home space or even better - activities that strengthen connection between me and my family and friends. I’ll value that spend more.
