I don't know. If it was something cheap I can see this, but something that costs around $300 seems like something they would want back.

It was probably a few years ago so most won't remember me talking about it here. I bought a bag from Dillard's and they sent me 2! I was only charged for one. I asked for a label to ship it back which I did, then they refunded my credit card so it was like I never paid. I kept calling them, explaining that I should be charged for the one bag I did keep. They told me they would but never did. I felt so guilty but no one seemed to care when I called. I gave up eventually because I tried lol I must have talked to them 5 times.

We stay home too, and I go to bed earlier than midnight, lol!!

Sometimes I take a nap and then wake up before midnight! Our zoo is doing a little NYE event, but it's earlier in the day so we may go. We did adult trick or treating at the zoo this year and it was so fun! Instead of candy they had stations with snacks or cocktails.

I added a couple pretties to my collection since September! A Rebecca Minkoff Suede MAB Hobo in Porcini and a beat saddle bag in green. I don’t have a pic of the beat bag, but I am sure you all know what that looks like. I can’t remember if I shared the RM. I really enjoy the RM! It’s super lightweight and the suede is so pretty.
All year I have kept track of my bag usage so I can actually see what bags are used the most. It was rather interesting to say the least. My top 5 bags were
1. Speedy 30
2. Delightful MM
3. Empreinte PM & Empreinte Montsouris (tied)
4. Reverse PM
5. Palm Springs Mini Backpack

Least used were Rodarte Courier & Metallic Ombre Tabby - I didn’t use them at all. There were a bunch I only used 2-5 days! I’m going to use this info to pare down my bags in 2022.

What are everyone else’s goals this upcoming year?

What a lovely choice of bags! I love my RM bags I bought this year, glad I tried the brand.

For 2022 I'd like to shrink my collection a little more and continue the one in one out rule. I was able to cut down my collection in 2021 and that made me happy. I want to give away, donate, and sell some SLGs. I have pretty much stopped buying them so that was a start haha

So it looks like LV made the top this year for you by your list  I had the Tabby you mentioned and sold it a while back. For some reason even though the Tabby 26 size works well for me, I ended up selling all I had. I think it has something to do with the strong buckle / snap when opening and shutting it. I guess I like the simplicity of the Dinky better for that size of bag.

My goals are to slow down on the rotation and buying of bags. I have a collection I really like and other than bags that come up on resale I hadn't seen before at a good price, I am mostly not tempted by the newer Coach items, so am safe there. Since I will only sell small things if any, it will have to help me buy less overall. Other goal is to not buy bags I know won't work, and think I have to see them in person.
Yes! LV was my most used this year, so I am feeling pretty good about that. I have a hard time using the Tabby 26 because of the center divider. It really messes up the storage situation for me!
It’s great you love your collection! The buying and selling rollercoaster is exhausting at times lol, but it sounds like seeing bags in person as a goal will help curb the desire to buy a bag. It’s too easy to order online!
I hope everyone had a nice holiday! One more to go, and I love New Year's Eve, we don't do anything but stay home and eat appetizers and drink champagne.... the best lol
That sounds fantastic!

RM kind of surprised me! I didn’t have high expectations so that helps. The bags are quite sturdy. Im glad to hear you were able to cut down your collection & that you’re happy with it! You’re on the right track!

I haven’t seen the bag in person, however the pic shown here looks kind of tote like to me, and in that case I would want it to be more stiff than drape too much. For me that style bag would annoy me if it puddled.

@whateve Brahmin is typically very stiff, or at least what I have seen in stores. Does that work for you on their bags or do they soften some? I think the feel of the leather, and not seeing the right colors in stores has kept me safe so far.
Brahmins are pretty stiff. I think it suits them. I wouldn't want them to soften up and I don't choose styles that would be better soft, like a bucket bag. I like drapey styles to be soft and structured styles to be stiff enough to keep their shape. I think half of my collection are bags that are structured. The good thing about stiff bags is that you don't see lumps if your stuff isn't arranged just right.

I agree. There are a lot of styles that need to be structured, and generally I prefer structured to some degree.

Your new RM suede hobo is very pretty . I forget that RM still makes hobos since I mostly see new RMs that are smaller. It’s interesting and great to see that you use your pink PM more than the Reverse one. I worry a little that the pink one is more delicate and prone to color transfer — I am not as worried about my red PM. I love the reverse print and have been tempted by the Reverse PM all of last year since I started using small bags again — the only thing that I hesitate on is adding another monogram type bag (I added 3 mono since the pandemic and I slightly worry about wearing mono out these days with local news of women and their purses being targeted).

I don’t know what my realistic  bag goals for 2022. But my general goal is to NOT buy any bags in 2022 (or at least for 6 months ) except for an very inexpensive faux shearling bag. I don’t know if you know that I started selling my contemporary bags again after taking a 2-3 year break (I have only been selling to FP/YC these past few years). Sales have been slow — only sold a couple and have a few more listed.

Love your RM bag! Never owned anything from the brand but adore the aesthetic, especially slouchy styles like this one.

Yipppeeee! Your persistence paid off!

I had just got comfy on the couch last night and a bag sold, I was planning on ignoring it and boxing it in the morning before work but then another one sold! So I had to get my butt up
That's wonderful! The days of having more than one sale in a day are long past for me. I remember one month I sold 45 items. Now I'm lucky if I sell 5.
