Haha yeah, believe it or not it’s the lightest bag I own! My fear of damaging it is the only thing keeping me from buying it right now, praying that fear lives on
I used to feel that way but my white leather bag has stayed beautiful. The only thing I would worry about is dye transfer from my clothes. If you keep the leather conditioned, it should stay clean. If it does happen to get dirty, the conditioner will keep the dirt from soaking into the leather and you can clean it off, then condition again.

Thanks so much, I’ll definitely do that! Sad that I’ve had this bag for over a year and used it just a couple times, it needs more love.

Inside of me there are two wolves…

One is trying to talk me into buying the Ergo 33 in natural from the Coach sale. It’s so pretty. So lightweight. Won’t make my shoulder hurt. Will make me feel like I’m in a ‘90s New York romcom but without the annoying love interest.

The other one is telling me not to be an idiot. I don’t use my elm Emery enough due to fear of colour transfer, why do I need another light-coloured bag? Also, given the amount of times I’ve broken my ban, maybe my shoulder does deserve to hurt.

Who’s going to win, guys? Who’s going to win? :amazed:

Oh goodness, who is going to win? I don’t want you to break your ban but it seems that you like your Ergo better than your Emery (?). Do you use your green Ergo often enough and love it enough to want to add another one? Then again, since it’s the holiday season, can it be considered a holiday gift perhaps from your DH? Like C said, I don’t really think of Elm as a light color either . Good luck deciding and let us know :).

I saw this bag at the outlet earlier this year (one of the many times I broke my ban haha) in another colour and it’s truly very beautiful!

I love large bags so the size wasn’t an issue for me but the only thing that stopped be (because clearly, to me a ban means buying more than o usually do) was how stiff the leather was.

For a style like this one I would want it to drape a little over time, and maybe this leather would after use, I can’t speak to that.

It is a gorgeous piece! I miss the 1941 line so much.

I had no idea that this is a big bag until you and C mentioned it here. And not that great that the leather is stiff. Well luckily,
this bag is not on FOS so no chance of being available for purchase .

I absolutely do not use my green Ergo enough but when has logic ever stopped me

We just bought our first home and will be moving in soon so I’ll be using the entirety of my doe-eyed request quota for furnishing/decor/renovation related expenses with DH.

Any bag I purchase will miraculously appear in my closet without DH knowing, this is another reason why buying similar styles repeatedly works in my favour  it will be sponsored by my fast-disappearing ‘fun’ fund, which I should hold onto and learn to control my impulses.

What am I going to do :panic:

It sounds like I wouldn't like it either. I don't believe you should have wait for leather to soften up. It should already be that way when they make the bag.
Agreed, it should be relatively soft when new. This leather is perfect on a dinky but way too stiff for a duffle style bag.

I haven’t seen the bag in person, however the pic shown here looks kind of tote like to me, and in that case I would want it to be more stiff than drape too much. For me that style bag would annoy me if it puddled.

@whateve Brahmin is typically very stiff, or at least what I have seen in stores. Does that work for you on their bags or do they soften some? I think the feel of the leather, and not seeing the right colors in stores has kept me safe so far.

I am sorry for your loss Sarah. It seems like a few of us have lost our Dad this year  — it hits hard during these tough pandemic days, especially around the holidays. Take care .
Am sorry for your loss Sarah...much love to you and your family at this time.
I know completely what you are going thru.

Here is my 4th Annual Holiday Card dear Ban Islanders. Trying something different this year instead of my usual charming/child-like  hand-drawn art. It’s a few days early but I wanted to post it now so I wouldn’t obsess over editing it . I hope I didn’t leave out anyone this year. If I did, please know you are wished well as a friend of ban island .

“May we do better next year”
I love it!

I added a couple pretties to my collection since September! A Rebecca Minkoff Suede MAB Hobo in Porcini and a beat saddle bag in green. I don’t have a pic of the beat bag, but I am sure you all know what that looks like. I can’t remember if I shared the RM. I really enjoy the RM! It’s super lightweight and the suede is so pretty.
All year I have kept track of my bag usage so I can actually see what bags are used the most. It was rather interesting to say the least. My top 5 bags were
1. Speedy 30
2. Delightful MM
3. Empreinte PM & Empreinte Montsouris (tied)
4. Reverse PM
5. Palm Springs Mini Backpack

Least used were Rodarte Courier & Metallic Ombre Tabby - I didn’t use them at all. There were a bunch I only used 2-5 days! I’m going to use this info to pare down my bags in 2022.

What are everyone else’s goals this upcoming year?

Hello friends!
I hope you're having a wonderful Christmas! An to those who celebrate other holidays, I hope your holidays were/are wonderful. :hugs:

I missed you guys so much! You're the one set of ladies I so wanted to see while I was away. I didn't mean to stay away so long, but we've had medical issues in the family and one thing led into another and time just flew by. Hopefully 2022 will be a better year for all of us. :-s:girlsigh::drinks:

I am not going to pretend to catch up with all 5,000 pages I missed. ( I don't really know how many I missed as TPF sent me right back to the beginning of the thread.) I'm sure you've all behaved beautifully and stayed out of trouble. Right? :giggle: I will go back a few pages and see what goodies I can find. Believe it or not, I was better than suspected.;) I may fess up later....

See you guys soon! :hbeat:

Nice to see you! I'm so sorry things have been hard lately. I hope 2022 brings you some peace

So it looks like LV made the top this year for you by your list :-) I had the Tabby you mentioned and sold it a while back. For some reason even though the Tabby 26 size works well for me, I ended up selling all I had. I think it has something to do with the strong buckle / snap when opening and shutting it. I guess I like the simplicity of the Dinky better for that size of bag.

My goals are to slow down on the rotation and buying of bags. I have a collection I really like and other than bags that come up on resale I hadn't seen before at a good price, I am mostly not tempted by the newer Coach items, so am safe there. Since I will only sell small things if any, it will have to help me buy less overall. Other goal is to not buy bags I know won't work, and think I have to see them in person.

Hi all, hope you had a great Christmas! I wanted to share a pic of my Christmas present  I had found this bag NWT for resale, and asked for it as a gift from my husband and son, as I have been trying not to buy any more bags, and wanted to make sure this was funded in order to get it. They agreed and it came today, and is perfect and beautiful. I had never seen this chestnut color link Dinky before. I like how it has a fall color tone to it, and is different from what I currently own.

What a great present! I really like the color combo of the links.

Thank you! I think I had only seen the black one before, and didn't realize there was a chestnut. They have slightly different link colors, and I hadn't seen many pics online. So when this one was posted, I was very much tempted :-) I never keep black Dinky bags so wanted to avoid that color and was happy to see another similar in a color palette that worked a lot better for me. Plus this one is pink on the inside! :-)
