I don't drink coffee or anything with caffeine (except chocolate). I've had trouble for years. Now it is worse because I have to wear a mouth guard, which is really uncomfortable and makes me drool!

I am in the same boat as you — haven’t truly slept well for almost a couple decades so always wake up tired . I also wear a night guard (on and off forever) to prevent teeth grinding and ear pain sometimes. The only difference is that I drink coffee everyday and sometimes tea too. Think some women have trouble sleeping as they get older — what a drag

I think the mouth guard has actually helped if I ever finally fall asleep. I think I stay asleep longer. I used to bite myself in my sleep which woke me up!

From changing hormones I have developed dry mouth as of a few months ago--who knew that was even a thing? lol. It is super annoying and my mouth feels either dry or really filmy at night. I finally messaged my dentist and he recommended Biotene, which is for dry mouth so I use it before bed and then when I wake up in the middle of the night (luckily it is mostly only an issue at night as during the day with all of the drinking and eating it isn't so bad). And then lately I has been dealing a bit with reflux here and there, which is also worse with hormone changes. So in wanting to avoid full time meds, I have just been taking Gaviscon occasionally when needed. These along with the vitamins I have added to help other things I feel like my medicine cabinet is growing! lol!

I am sorry. I hear ya. I haven’t been sleeping well, my mind keeps churning when I’m trying to rest.

I feel so tired and then I lay down and my brain just will not stop annoying me with things out of my control! Shut up brain.
Have you tried any meditations? There are a lot of short ones out there too, along with some for sleeping, and they can be really helpful when the issue is that you keep thinking about things, etc. I hope your mind chills out a bit!

When I asked my Dr about my sleeping problem years ago, I was given a prescription for Ambien. I never tried it. I have tried a couple of sleeping meditation type exercise/audio but didn’t help

I only tried one prescription drug many years ago and I didn't like the side effects. I take unisom (the original formula) which has an added benefit of helping with my cough. Sometimes I take some supplements which may or may not help. Melatonin didn't work for me. It gave me nightmares. I've used theanine, PS100 and Glycine. Theanine and Glycine are amino acids so I feel they are very safe. Glycine tastes like sugar. I think anything you use only works if you use it occasionally.
