I found out today one of my new coworkers who I met once two weeks ago was on a vent in the hospital not doing well. He just moved from CA and apparently picked up the virus somewhere.

He was living with the owner, office next to mine, and the owner’s son still working with me and in my office today. The wife/mom is apparently infected too.

Not one person said a word to me until it was brought up as a by the way in staff meeting today. I was beyond livid. How can I stay safe if you won’t stay home knowing you are living with sick people?

My mother and her husband were just here with me for the week. I could have infected them because you can’t send an email, open your mouth, text, nothing more than a week ago when you obviously found out? I am still angry.

Before I left today, they said the coworker had been taking off the vent and they were going to let him go. He’s like mid-40s. So very sad. I feel so horrible for his family. So many what ifs.

Anyway, take care of yourselves because even in the most blatant of situations, people still can’t or won’t do the right common sense thing.
Very sad. You are not alone, I work for a very large package transportation company (that you all depend on to get your purses delivered to you) and they do not disclose cases of COVID in the building and they don't enforce masking wearing. Every day is stressful and it's been this way since March!:annoyed:

Absolutely amazing! I walked in today with a big poster by the door now that said if you enter the building, by state law, they are not responsible if you get Covid. You are assuming the risk. Really? I'm actually assuming earning a paycheck so I can eat and live with somewhat of a roof over my head. We need to bring back unions. Very convenient that appeared right after making clear the family and one of our coworkers had it and were continuing to report to work.

I am sorry to hear you work under such stressful conditions :(. Take care.

Thanks. I am vacillating between huge sorrow for the family and huge anger for my greatest fear of being exposed at work and not knowing and killing my mother while she’s here.

From a world where you had to hunt someone down with a landline to having an instant 20 different ways to give a heads up in two seconds and choosing not to. I just don’t get people and, in this case, someone actually died. How much motivation do you need to do the right thing?

All this talk about what to do when it happens in the workplace and this was their choice. Nothing even when legally required to do so. I really am losing total faith in humanity giving any concern about their fellow human being. Never thought I would see this level of who cares ever in my life. So beyond sad.

Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. Enough sadness. I am going to be crying over and donating to Louisiana relief tomorrow. This year sucks!

Time to go see the new Coach collection and get a few laughs in.

you have a reason to vent, I would have lost my **** in the meeting, they are putting lives at risks

I have been saying 2020 is an unnecessarily difficult year - really it's going to go wrong it will happen this year

the hurricane is just scares me, having evacuated many times I know what it's like to leave and not know what you are going to come to

somehow I have purchased 4 dresses...not sure where I am going to wear, atleast they are casual dress but still I usually throw on shorts & a tshirt and call it a day
I have another dress on its way to me. I haven't worn dresses for years. I bought several cheap dresses this year to put on after swimming. I wonder if I'll ever use them as real clothes.

I love casual dresses! My last few dresses I bought have all been T by Talbots and I can't say enough how much I love them! I also love their skorts from this line!

I've seen you in a dress and you look cute! Whenever I've tried on a dress in a store, it never looks that cute on me. I don't know what is the proper length for someone my age. I stopped wearing shorts many years ago. I used to buy a lot of stuff from Talbots many years ago. I haven't been into a Talbots store in ages.

It is a line of product that uses a consultant like Avon and such. They sell cleaning cloths and such that supposedly only need to use water to clean because they are a nice microfiber. There is a ton of info online. So you can search for videos, reviews and products. Anyway, I picked up a couple competitor cloths at a store to see if I liked it, and then someone had a party online and I bought a small set of the Norwex.

It hasn’t come yet but I have used the ones I bought first, and it is an okay idea but I don’t think I am wowed about the idea as some that really get into it. I think because I am not cleaning so much that I am using tons of cleansers anyway. Also, you have to wash the cloths separately (you can rinse them between use but need to wash them regularly as well) because they don’t last well if washed with lint-y laundry. So that is kind of annoying.

I will keep you posted to see if I get more excited about it. Lol
I have a couple cloths from them that are for cleaning windows/mirrors/glass. You use the gray one with water to clean the surface, then polish the water off with the purple one. I really like them bc they never leave streaks! It’s also helped me cut down on paper towel consumption.

Yes, I do agree that the ecloths that I have that are similar work well for that. I did end up cancelling my norwex order (if the consultant will do it and not pretend it shipped already, lol), because the cloths I have are fine, and I really don't need to go all in on their products. But I can use the cloths I have here and there, and it is nice to have some variety.

I was using cloths for all of my cleaning anyway, so my usage of paper towels is still low. I think that is why I have had a hard time being as into their products as some that are super hyped about it. I was just talking to someone online and she was saying, I still use the cloth diapers from when my son was young to clean--I said I do too! (those things that can be used as burp cloths, etc--I have had mine for years and they are still going strong).

I will you use old cut up t-shirts, old socks (great for putting on your hand for cleaning ceiling fan blades). I do have a microfiber cloth I use for glass and mirrors (no lint) and I recently bought a 2 pack of microfiber cloths for dusting off some of my metal furniture (loves to hold onto dust! Boo), along with Pledge. Was hoping it would help prolong it getting dusty, that black metal can be a beast for collecting dust. So far it has been better.

I haven't tried Norwex and wondered about them. Microfiber cloths are my favorite for cleaning and wiping up messes, but I go through a lot of them in a day; so I need to have a little stack of them. I have a couple of samples of the "as seen on TV" kind, but most are basic ones from amazon. There is a little bit of difference, but they all work really well. I have a mix of colors; so different ones get used in the kitchen/bath. I wash them with regular towels and usually don't have a problem with lint. I do use a light cleaning spray since I mainly use them for wiping surfaces, like counters. I spray the surface with cleaner and then wipe with the dry cloth. I only wet the microfiber for dusting. They are great when liquids spill! I also have a few bar cloths and the burp cloth diapers that are great too. We have napkins from etsy made of that wonderful diaper fabric.

Cloth diapers are the best for cleaning! I also use old towels and old tee shirts.
