Some of them have special agreements with a specific card (Costco) or want you to get their card. That doesn't work on me. ;)
Kind of on this note I find it funny that, not factoring in the change shortage, that some stores are kind of odd about cash now. Honestly there is a lot of touching everywhere going on, so I can't excuse that as a reason why they should be worried about cash. But for example, I went to a store yesterday and my item was only 10$, so she said oh, you are paying cash? I said yes. and she said we need to go to the other register as it is the only one with cash. Weird. Anyway, then I gave her a 20 and some change to get $10 back. She asked if I had something smaller as there wasn't enough for change? lol. She had to get it from the safe. I was thinking, you are a chain store, cash should be expected as not all items in here cost a ton of money. I don't like to use credit if I have cash as it keeps my bills down.

Another funny story...my guys and I go to Target and the self checkout guy was saying they don't take cash right now, which I knew because there was a sign and it had been that way for a while. He explains it is for the change shortage not because they otherwise would not take cash. My husband oddly says he is sorry 3 times, and I am thinking what is he saying sorry for? It turns out he totally missed what the guy said and thought he said they can't take items in baskets in that area, only carts, so my husband thought we were doing something wrong.

My son, husband, and I lol about it so much later because he said sorry so pathetically and in a way I have never heard him say it, and we kept joking with him--we are glad you are so empathetic about the change shortage! I said I have no idea how or why you thought the basket was the issue :-) We still laugh about it weeks later.

LOL! That is a great story! I love it when something is so funny it makes you laugh again.

Did Stick have something to do with this? I bought a bag on ebay. Almost 2 hours later, the seller cancelled. I found out later that she sold it on Poshmark to a tpfer after she had already sold it to me. She got more for it on poshmark so she cancelled my purchase.
I had that happen to a green court I bought...reasonable price but was listed for a lot more on etsy...hmmm wonder if its still there.

LOL! One of my siblings loves Jif. I liked them all and didn't realize I loved Skippy the most until I bought my own peanut butter.
Is that the Jif song? I just remember that Picky People Pick Peter Pan Peanut Butter. I wonder what they said about Skippy.
It wasn't a song, just a slogan - Choosy mothers choose JIF.

I always wonder how sellers can cancel, when as a buyer ebay tells you you are obligated to purchase an item you commit to? Maybe there is some allowance on both sides, but I don't think that is really fair.
She was sneaky about it. And she lied to me when she said she sold it to me by mistake. She only refunded on Paypal, didn't do the cancellation on ebay. On ebay there are 3 reasons, I think, a seller can cancel. One, the buyer requested it (which is allowed in the first hour, but might be accepted if the seller hasn't shipped), two, there is a problem with the buyer's address, three, the item is lost or damaged. With the third reason, the seller gets a defect on her account. Since she never did a cancellation, she is avoiding the defect.

Stick wouldn’t do that to you. Others here in a heartbeat so watch it!

So sorry you ran into a first class butt wipe.

On a side note - So cash has always been dirty. As long as you’re washing your hands and not touching your face, mouth, eyes, etc. I would be more concerned about the coughing, sneezing, etc. going on. But yes if it is simply due to a shortage of change I get that.

That stinks. Totally not cool. Gives sellers a bad rap. That’s the part of selling, it’s a gamble when you accept a certain selling price. That’s just the name of the game.

She literally had no cash in her cash drawer in the first example. Very silly for the register that was planned to use for cash transactions. Lol. And yes, cash has always been something we should know carries a lot of germs. I agree. To be fair, though, I think things like that have always been an important part of some exposure to germs for the sake of our immune systems. We are not meant to be totally pure and clean. I get with COVID we are more cautious though.

As for Target he did make it clear they had no issues with cash other than the change shortage.

Wow... That is so wrong for a Seller to do that! Any chance you can share her name so we can avoid buying from her - on any site?

Your fire pit sounds so nice. Enjoy! I keep thinking about getting a small portable one. It sounds like it would be really nice to sit out by the fire in the fall. I would really enjoy it.

You can just have the nice small ones we have one that is right out the front door like that. Then we have a huge area that is a typical country fire pit type. The smaller version is nice for some smores or a wee fire to keep bugs off, without being overly intense or hard to control.
