I meant to tell you...just saw an Assher cut, in this style, on a gal recently. Probably 2 ct. Custom made, not Tiffany. Not much metal, either, which showed off the stone.
Absolutely magnificent!

I have the regular Tiffany dbty in .14ct in yellow gold and this custom made baby! The stone is a transitional cut (I think) from the 1920s or 1930s when my hubby's grandma got married in China when she was 13 (arranged marriage) and this was her e-ring.

Depends on the color of the diamond. I think D-G is good in white gold or platinum but lower colors are flattered more by yellow gold. Bezels are pretty but cover a lot of the diamond. Basket setting is my favorite.
