It is gorgeous! Do you think that a 0.25 (excellent cut, good color, few inclusions) will be too small to make a pendant? Most ppl I see they choose stones closer to 1ct, but my loose stone is very small and I don't want it to sit in a box. I was thinking bezel set.

I think it would be really beautiful in a bezel setting, like the Tiffany's DBTY. It's a different type of look than a large diamond pendant. Since the diamond is small, it just adds a sparkle to your neck, in a very feminine, dainty sort of way.

There is a thread on Tiffany's DBTY, you should take a look.

Beautiful piece!
Here are a couple of pictures of my diamond pendant. It was a wedding gift from my DH. The specs are .75 ct in the center H SI1 .10 ct in the halo for a total of .85 ct.

I have seen very nice pendants pendants .25 in size, with excellent cut, it should really pop.
You don't have to set in a halo for this to look nice, either.

Thanks Lily25. Personally I don't think that it would be too small, however, I would put a halo around it to make it pop. I don't think that a bezel will accent it well, in fact IMO it would hide it. But 0.25 ct should not just sit in a box. Another option would be to find a matching stone and make a pair of earrings. Good luck.;)

Thanks for the input! Maybe I should consider a halo. I have to go out and actually see pendants that size don't I? :smile1: I was thinking of bezel because of the tiffany pendant http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/ite...-t&cid=287465&selectedsku=26951224&fromgrid=1 but maybe you are right. Still need to think about it.
As for earrings, I already have a good sized pair of studs, 1ct each, so I will not be looking to earrings.

Thank you jade, yes it is excellent cut, it used to be set on a ring my colleagues got me 9 years ago for my birthday, it was my 1st solitaire ha ha a private joke of me marrying my job :p, anyways despite the small size is "pops" because of the cut and it is colorless... Anyway I don't wear it at all since I got engaged and then married.

There's a thread called 'Please post your necklaces or pendants here' . I tried to copy/paste the URL but didn't succeed. i think there may be another thread, too.
I will search again!:smile1:

I think its the perfect everyday size, especially for layering if you choose to do that! If I was to bezel set it, it would be a very fine bezel so that it doesnt overwhelm the diamond. a perfect example would be the platinum dbty line from tiffany. the bezel is very thin so it accentuates the diamond instead of hiding it!

a dainty halo would look gorgeous as well, just dont do anything bigger than 1 pointers because it will start to look like a cluster of sorts.;)

I just received my pendant and I was a little overwhelmed. I didn't expect it to be so large. It is almost the size of my 1ctw princess cut center stone on my wedding ring.

I am not sure if I am going to keep it or not. I am going to wait til tonight when my husband comes home and gives me his opinion.

I've attached a picture. The first pendant I purchased at the age 20 with my first paycheck. I know the diamond is less than .20ctw. I think it's anywhere from .10-.15. I am not sure, I just thought it was pretty and I didn't know much about diamonds at that time.

The second pendant was my mothers. She received it as an engagement present from my father but she never wears it so I asked her for it. As you can see in the pic the chain is discolored. I am thinking about resetting it if I end up returning the one I received today..

The third pendant is 0.70ctw/Ideal/F/SI2. What do you guys think about the bezel setting? I wanted a more updated look/fixed bezel but I am not sure if I like the size of the "ears". Of course the Tiffanys style is more appealing but I just can't justify the price.

I also prefer the very thin bezels.
The halo is a whole different look. I like halos sometimes but then I don't think you have a solitaire pendant and sometimes honestly they either look to me too busy or as if someone was longing for a bigger diamond but couldn't afford. If there is going to be cluster of diamonds, I like something that looked more designed like art deco pendants. But this JMHO

Yes, a .70 round is going to be almost the size of a 1 carat princess because princesses are smaller, generally speaking. A well-cut 1 carat princess is 5.5 mm (while a well-cut round one carat is 6.5 mm--and a .50 round, even is 5.2 mm)
But I guess I don't see the problem with the pendant being about the same size as your e-ring center stone? I don't think it will take away from your e-ring, especially if it is not in a plain solitaire setting.
I think the pendant is pretty. VERY pretty. I do think the rabbit ears are a bit large. It depends on you if you think this is worth bothering about or not. Do you have the opportunity to go custom to get what you want? What would be the price difference be? Is it worth the trouble? I had my pendant made custom so the jeweller not only made the jump rings small but set them kind of back a little, so they are still less obvious (and also, the pendant doesn't 'flip'). But I know that not everyone has a great jeweller nearby so this may not be an option for you (to buy the diamond alone and have it custom set).
I think you have a lovely collection pictured, great for layering or for wearing as single solitaires. Good luck with making a decision. It's lucky to be able to have to make decisions such as these!
Can we see pics of the pendants on you?

All the necklaces are gorgeous!

OP, I do know what you're saying about the "ears" on your bezel pendant ... I have a .60 carat heart-shaped diamond that I have been wanting to set in a pendant and I was worried about the exact same thing. Perhaps you can have your jeweler make the pendant more of a slide so the opening the chain goes through is in the back, thereby eliminating the "Mickey Mouse ears"? I think it's just a personal preference thing; either you're bothered by that or you're not. Tiffany has theirs set the same way yours is so there's nothing wrong with it!

As for the carat size, it is absolutely not too big. To be honest with you, I think there's no such thing as a too large diamond! It's like having too much money or food being too garlicky -- it just cannot happen IMO. :-)
