Well i tihnk you should add it up together and have a look at the amount you spend..normally when I buy a big item or work out how much i've spent a month it puts me into relaity check mode and feeling at the pit of my stomache stops me from buying more :P!!

I really feel for you. I have the very same problem. I have purchased 5 coach bags in the last two months alone along with other accessories. I really need to stop. In the past I have not liked the handbag designs but this year I like alot. If you quit smoking you can quit anything! Maybe you should go on a Coach ban. When I was in my Coach Boutique last week I asked my SA if she herself was purchasing the Ergo hobo in turquoise or in patent leather. She said she was still deciding and that she sees so many bags and you just can't purchase all of them. She said that since she works there and sees bags all the time she pretty much only gets something if she really likes it after holding out for a while. Why don't you try this.:confused1:

You've got some good stuff there, and I agree 75% of it is small stuff and probably at decent prices. You've got to look at your are going to use and what you're not going to be able to get later, etc.

You only live once and I also agree with the person that says you've got to make the most of it - however, you shouldn't put yourself & your future in jeopardy, and only YOU know if you are close to doing that...

I like batgirl's advice of checking out the money section... We all come from different backgrounds, geographical locations, educational backgrounds, etc... This means that $38 for a keychain to one person is MUCH different then it could be to another! So, everything has to be put in perspective.

I'm going to the Coach store today and I'm going to get the turtle keyfob, not think twice about getting it... However, when I was in college (a mere 3 years ago), I would have NEVER just bought a $38 keychain without thinking about it and whether it was something I REALLY wanted/needed, etc... $38 was alot different then, because I lived in a diff geo area, I was a frugal student getting money only from my parents & PT jobs, and the $$$ situation was slightly different.... Everyone has limits, its just about figuring out where you are in life and budgeting accordingly... :flowers:

I have gone a little crazy with Coach lately too - but it's not breaking the bank because I am good with money in other areas of my life - just not handbags. I will curse all the way home if I forget to use a 50 cent coupon at the gorcery store, but I will buy a $400 purse and think that's reasonable. Crazy, I know. Thankfully there is nothing left that I am interested in at Coach - and hopefully it will stay that way.....at least until PCE!!!

Just to make you feel a wee bit better this is what I have bought since February;

Large Soho Flap
Legacy shoulder bag - black
Legacy shoulder bag - whiskey
Large Soho suede hobo (at outlet prices thank God)
Large Carly
Ergo tote - camel
Leather legacy french purse
Carly wristlet
Soho mini skinny
Legacy stripe ponytail scarf
Black and white signature ponytail scarf (outlet)

That's usually what happens to me!

Thanks for your tips, everybody. I've taken a look at my finances and maybe it's not as bad as it seems-- I'm not trying to rationalize, but I don't have any debt except a car payment. No credit cards or anything because I refuse to have them. I buy stuff only after my bills are paid-- I pay all of my bills from my paycheck, then the remaining "mad money" goes to... well, madness-- lately, the madness is Coach. Before it was Coach, I went through a traveling phase where I spent all my money on that, and before that, it was clothes. I won't spend money unless I have extra, but I do go without playing golf and traveling to have lots of Coach :shame:

Oh, PyAri, you just made me feel better *dies!*

Kallison, you say you are no longer an lv virgin-- what did you get? I wanna see!

I know how you feel razorbackbelle0 I work at a department store and since we get 20% any purchase I buy something pretty much everyday I work. Let it be small or large. I'm really thinking of chopping up my credit card for the store. And just can't have it without buying something I DON'T NEED!

I'd say return stuff (that's usually what I do when i realize I don't need it). And just pick things you really don't need or you could get later on.

I sell on Ebay. That's how I come up with my Coach spending money.
But, I should cut back. I've only purchased 2 bags this year (my Mandy for $331 and my blue hobo for $140.).
The rest, like you, were scarves and key chains, mostly at the outlet.

The outlet is my friend. I only try to go once a month.
I have to be strong and set limits!

Maybe set aside a piggy bank for Coach purchases only?
That's what I am doing for my wish list stuff!

mandy for 331?
my god!
ebay?

^^LOL PyAri!^^

That's what I said when the manager marked it down and extra 50% off for me!:wtf:

NOPE! Bought her at the OUTLET!

It was there for a whole WEEK!

I told myself, If I come back next week and its still there, she's MINE!
And she was!
Nothing wrong, just a few pen marks!

The deal you got on the Mandy is OBSCENE. I'm so jealous!

I also sell things on e-bay. And save that money to buy Coach. Like my old purses I don't use-- recently, I sold an LV for several hundred that really helped!

I'm sure my list since January/February is just about as long if not longer. LOL I agree with PyAri - as long as your finances allow then go for it. We all know that Coach is a love of ours.. at least it's one of mine. :graucho: PLUS - you're getting such a GREAT deal on the stuff you're getting now as an SA. I'd   for that job! Be proud and LOVE everything you have/get.

My husband and I are both engineers at the space center and we're DINKs (Dual Income No Kids), so, even though my collection is *outrageously* large, I know I can afford it. Sounds like you've got a great head on your shoulders, and it sounds like you're on the right track - especially with having no credit card bills and paying off all your bills and such before using 'mad money'. ;) :wlae:

The main point I want to make is if money is tight, it should not be spent on purses. If you have plenty of money to spare, buy purses, but if not, it's probably best to use the money on other things, and have some savings in case of emergency.

I love purses a lot too, but we all have to be realistic sometimes.

If you really feel bad, sell a couple of things on ebay to make yourself feel better.
