How To work for Louis Vuitton...

Totally a suggestion... do what you will with it...
When you go in, always wear something professional. Shorts and a polo shirt will not get you any where... regardless of the designer. Wear slacks and a tie... jacket is optional but I would recommend it. I'm sure you looked cute, but "cute" won't get you a job... you must be "professional." Do your research... what do the employees wear? Do they have a uniform? Color scheme? Etc...

Make sure your resume is PERFECT! Check Microsoft Works for some templates. Gear your past/current experience towards the job you want now... just because you don't have the experience doesn't mean you can't get the job.

A very important tip...
"Your resume gets you the interview, the interview gets you the job!"

Thank you so much:)
I will definately follow up on that advice.
Would it be best, however to simply show up.. Or call the store before , and see if they are hiring ..Then show up??

And would taking the Poche documents, to carry my resume in..over-do it ??:sweatdrop:

So today..
Is the day :x..
I will be attending the 3 closest LV stores to my house, and submitting my application to them.
I'm extremely nervous,..I will of course be dressing in business attire, and ask to speak to the current manager on duty.
So wish me luck ladies..and gents.
And any last minute advice would really help.

i applied years ago for a cashier/wrapper position ( i just wanted the discount! ). i e-mailed my resume, and they called! but my hours of availability didn't meet their shift requirements - the shift started at like, 4 pm, and i don't finish at my full time job til 4:30.

but maybe you could start there, as a cashier, and then work up to an SA?

good luck!

Make sure to follow up. You sound like youre on the right track. Believe me..if you get the job ..the LV perks will blow your mind. Louis is growing quickly so im sure they are hiring. Also, make sure to apply to each one individually and submit your resume to all of them.

I live right next to southcoast... 15 SA quitted last month...more quitting... maybe you have chance but you have to have working experience in high end stores for sure...
If you dont have high end working exp or dont speak different language.. your chances are low getting the job..

Xxxjulybabayxxx how come so many SA quitting?? do you know?

I apologize in advance for not responding what had happened earlier.
So this is what happened.
I first called one of my friends who is a manager at a Bebe store, and asked for some last minute tips before i turned in my resume. She told me, not to be surprised if they weren't impressed by the application, since I dont have any experience in "high-end" retail what so ever.

SO My first stop was the Lv in Century city..
As usual the store was extremely slow, and the sales associates were simply chatting it up and laughing while the security guards were trying on the sunglasses and what not.
I went up to the Sa and asked, If i could please speak to a managaer.. and she said.. theyre arent any..
I stated... there has to be at least one.. whether it be the accessories manager..or anything.
and she said no.. what was the reason I wanted to speak to the manager for..and i said to turn in my resume, (by the way i was extremely polite and courteous).. she said let me have it.. and said..ill give it to her when i have a chance.. And as she walked into the back.. I saw her fold my resume in half.. what a b**Ch ..im like ouch.

So next.. I drove a little east towards the Rodeo Drive LV..
there i was fortunate enough to turn my application to a manager, but she simply smiled..got my resume..and set it down..she seemed very uninterested... but i still thanked her for the opportunity ...so i walked over to gucci.. burberry.. BCBG..coach..and turned in my resume there as well.

I then drove over to the Lv @ the beverly center... as usual when i asked one of the SA's for help they were very rude.. and brushed me off.. so i finally was able speak to one of the managers..she was busy at the time doodling on a paper.. like seriously scribbling.. she got my resume.. and placed it down.. didn't even look it and and that was all.. i thanked her as well

then I drove over to The LV in Hollywood.. I first spoke to the cashier..and asked if i could speak to a manager..to turn in my resume..as soon as i said that she snatched it from my hand,.,. and said ill do it.. i snatched it from hers..and said..thank you very much but id prefer to do it personally.
She "mad-dogged" me .. and called one of her managers..right before the manager stepped out..the SA told her manager something in the ear about me and giggled....so i mentally though..uhoh.. But long story short I was able able to click with the manager.. Thee best out of all the other managers SA's i dealt with that day .. but she said they were already fully staffed at her Lv..

so I left the boutique @ 4-.. and was suppose to be at work by 5.. and those of you who live in California..already know that the freeways are a parking lot.. So I ended up getting to work @ 6:15..an hour and 15 minutes late. I was punished, but didn't really mind, since I was in my LV coma, from seeing so many great bags/accessories in one day

So I wanted to know.. what is my next step..
Do I simply play the waiting game..or do I give them a call..
Or ???

OMG, I can't believe some of those SAs. What is their problem? How unprofessional of them! Well, I just want to wish you luck and I would suggest to wait about a week before you follow up.
