How To work for Louis Vuitton...

I work part time at the Vuitton at the Galleria here in Dallas. We have 30% items that have been out for at least 6 months with a $3000 limit per year. Additionally we can one watch per year at 30% discount but there are stipulations depending on popularity of the item.

As far as work experience/classes/whatever required, there arent any classes that one needs to take and prior to this job id only worked at Sears as a seasonal customer service manager and im 19 so age doesnt scare them lol. Granted I may well be an exception. Ex: when the manager asked why I would make a great associate I named off all of the bags that were on display. Be it an epi Monceau or a juan Pulp Weekender, I know that bag and knowledge of the product is obviously really vital.

If you have any other questions, dont hesitate to ask.
Oh, and if you are ever in Dallas, stop by and see me I'd love to discuss the collections :)

wowow...thxs ofr the insight... so how do u tell fake from real as thye getting better each time.?

if you compare the SAs and any avid TPFer, i'm sure the tpfer would make a better SA because we show appreciation, time and effort for the brand. we all love the brand and take pride in the quality thats been put on the item. any of us can name any style, price, season, colour, etc etc probobly a lot more than the SAs. we all take care each and every one of our bags. do the SAs do the same? i'm sure some do but i've also seen some who are quite reckless with a 1k and up bag.

i could not agree more

I dont know about other countries but I know the SA in LV Singapore does not get a lot. They get around 1.5k and no commission. No staff purchase discount. They also need to meet a sales quota of at least 5 digits I heard.

i think working at LV you have to enjoy serving people and really love what you do. or else you'll end up grumpy and snotty and then tpfers will never go back to their store :P

My SA stated to me that their pay sucks! They don't make commissions. The company is very cheap with their employees being that LV is a billion dollar co. too.

I used to work in retail and didn't like it. I don't think I would go back in working retail again. This is just me, but I think if you work in a Luxury retail boutique, employees should be compensated with some kind of commission/bonus plan. Unfortunately, LV does not pay commissions.

i know tiffany's pays $12.5 and up for the location im at, but it also depends on the location of each LV boutique, i believe new york or los angeles will have a higher wage because of living fees and etc, and then there are places that are less expensive to live at and so the wages are lower. also the longer you work as a SA for a certain place the most you get paid or if you have a lot of experience im sure you can demand more, only to a certain point
