^ yeah i know, back in September when i had basically only known about LV and TPF for about a month, i went to the Rodeo Drive boutique and asked to see the Rosewood in amarante. the SA there hadnt even heard of that bag! granted, it was a new bag that had came out in June but still.

I just applied for a full time job at LV in Melbourne. But that was 2 weeks ago and I havent heard anything yet, although the job is still being advertised. I doubt the pay is that great, but I dont need a high paying job, I want something that I will enjoy.

I have had 2 years experience managing a high end boutique store, and thought that would be a good advantage. But nope, nothing yet, so Im probably not going to hear back.:sad:

yepp... i think people working at LV boutiques as SAs don't do it for the money, rather for the enviroment.
i'd love to be surrounded everyday by beautiful LV

i doubt they pay that much...
don't they have that system, you know, where you have a given payment and you can add more to that by selling more (but LV SAs don't write their 'number' on the boxes like they do at footlocker lol...)?
if they would've such a high salary, maybe the SAs wouldn't be that encouraged anymore?!?!.. don't know...

azhangie ~ 30 in vvn is 1185 before price increase

m1nime ~ w/your managing experience and knowledge from tPF, I'm sure you will get the job!

back to OP, besides 30% off bags, SA can't purchase new release/LE until it's 6 months old. RTW are insanely discounted up to 70%. All SA purchased item will be marked, and closely monitored not for resale. I was told one of the SA was fired b/c she gift the bag, receiver post it on eBay, and SA got tracked down.

Jenny Wong is pretty slack at replying to your emails. I applied about 4 weeks ago for the LV store at DFS in Auckland, and I didn't get a reply from her. A week later I emailed her to ask if she could confirm she received my CV and still got no reply. Finally just last week I got a call from the DFS store saying that they had my CV and wanted to know if I spoke another language (I purposely left this out because the job ad said "ideally bilingual" and I don't speak another language). If I did speak another language then I know the job would have been mine, it's just that the DFS store is full of mainly asian tourists.

I too have applied at Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane at LV since they are all hiring at the moment! However it seems that Jenny isn't doing the recruiting for Brisbane/Perth.

I think it depends on the demographics for the stores in regards to languages spoken (normally a second language is preferred), but LV also want some sales experience, ability to make additional/alternative sales and immaculate presentation. Other than that, in the job advertisements I see, they seem to be pretty general: be able to work in a team environment and have fun <---- seems like most people!

Average retail job in the US in a mid-level metro area is about $8/hr at most, so...u do the math.

LV SAs are NOT mimimum wage retail workers- most salepeople at exclusive stores make $18-20 an hour plus commission (though we all know LV in particularly doesn't sell on commmission). In general these salespeople can easily make six figurures and even avoid entering store management because it would be a cut in pay (and Nordstrom store managers make $150,000-170,00). Considering secondary schooling is not neccessary I'd say SAs hawking luxury goods are doing very well for themselves.

the discount is 30% but they have to wait 6mths for an item to be out b4 they can buy one.

I've also heard this- but it's not neccessarily six months. It's at the discretion of the regional manager, who has the ability to deny SAs the right to buy items past six months if they're still considered high-demand. And because it depends on the manager, SAs in some regions may be able to purchase an item while ones in another may not.

I vaguely remember that if you go to the louis vuitton website and look under 'careers' or 'opportunities' or something similarly worded, you can see where there are openings in all the different LV departments.
I am pretty sure if you want to work as an SA you will need to have a minimum of 3 or 5 years experience in a high-end sales related job and preferably with some supervisory role. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

i had a friend who worked at LV during the winter seasonal time. she didnt have much experience..was around 20 or so?! and got paid 16.. i dont know if they were easier on her since it was for seasonal or not..but she sure did buy up a lot of bags while working there!

At first glance all the %off the retail price sound nice; but whatever is left of the original price is still an awful lot of money... and with the money you earn at the job you also have to pay your rent, have a car, buy food and drink etc...
So I doubt that the sas at LV have cupboards full of LV bags like other people have books in their shelves...
