How To work for Louis Vuitton...

I vaguely remember that if you go to the louis vuitton website and look under 'careers' or 'opportunities' or something similarly worded, you can see where there are openings in all the different LV departments.
I am pretty sure if you want to work as an SA you will need to have a minimum of 3 or 5 years experience in a high-end sales related job and preferably with some supervisory role. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

This is a very interesting thread! After seeing my bag obsession and now, my constant tPF browsing, my mom is suggesting I put aside my NYU education and get a job at LV...and if the pay and discount are good I don't see why not?! Although I think she was joking...MUHAHAHA ;)

I just checked the official website. At the very bottom, there is an "HR" in the left corner. If you click on that, you will find out about career opporunities. It looks like 3-5 years in a luxury retail job is strongly recommended.

I found this information online regarding the employee discount:

Discount for Louis Vuitton
Discounted Louis Vuitton does exist. LVMH does sell their products at a discounted rate to employees and out-of-season products are also sold at an extreme discount to employees. This is not a well known fact and LVMH certainly does not want their 'no-sale' policy tarnished.

*the above info. is from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Louis_Vuitton#Discount_for_Louis_Vuitton

lol i doubt that!

I agree...I worked retail for several years (in college and also as a second job) and I don't think it really matters what store or setting its in...it adds up to this: retail jobs are not a whole lot more than minimum wage. Management make a bit more and you can advance that way, but being an SA is not a glamourous job. If anyone knows different, let me know. :smile1:

The LV SAs here are not highly paid.

About 1800sgd for newbies. They also do not earn commission but have certain incentives e.g. shopping vouchers etc when they hit targets set for them.

the discount is 30% but they have to wait 6mths for an item to be out b4 they can buy one. also u have to work there over 1 yr fist and be part time or full time
they also get some free stuff occasionally like hip pochettes and scarfs and x-mas bonus...... my sa tells me everything

You know sometimes i think those SA's that work at LV boutiques dont even know as much as i do about thier products, current or upcoming. Its a bit sad, that they have to get out the book and ask me to look for what i want.

-I went into the LV at BH today and i asked the lady about the watercolor speedy..she seroiusly looked at me like i had three heads. She goes to the back brings out the book and guess what?!? The book says "watercolor speedy 30" I'm like..grl, i shouldnt have to tell you what ur new products are you should be telling me!!! She didnt know the price either, she gave me the price of the speedy 35...i'm like wat?! No its $1100! o well.

I'd love to work at LV
