MYH, I am so happy you started this thread as I am among those who claim to have forsworn the 90 cm format, only to keep succumbing to its charms. As in, "Just when I thought I was out... they pull me back in", LOL!

I was smitten by Ladybaga's simple use of her Mors ring (yeah, I have one of those too) but hadn't tried it until papertiger said that you could just slip a bias-folded twill thru the rings and the thing would just hang there. 'Uh huh' said the skeptic, but lo and behold, it works. Well not quite 'behold', because the pic I took was of the Ladybaga variation.

I'm coming out of lurkdom to tell you that I think it works with my ratty Target t-shirt, and if I had on jeans instead of ratty sweatpants, I wouldn't hesitate to head out to the grocery store and not feel I was overdressed/matronly. This, despite the fact that at my local grocery store many people do in fact wear ratty sweatpants, and I mean 'ratty', not lulumon ;).......but that's for another thread :p
I am really laughing out loud at this post.
however, you do look great!

and some more that are a bit more 'specialist' shots proving scarf rings don't have to mean smart and polished

The Clic Clac en Pois is only a 70, but is just as easy with a 90

Wow Papertiger You have a wonderful and original way of styling your lovely silks . Love the Slav/ Folk Art theme and immediately thought of this:

I want to thank everybody SO SO much for contributing to this thread. DH and I headed over to Melrose Place for some lunch and light afternoon shopping yesterday. So my first thought was uh oh! What to wear??? I want to look elegantly casual but not look like I tried to "dress up" to go shopping there. So I employed my trusty circle twist knot I learned from Azalie and Crochetbella. Thanks gals!I didn't get a picture because we were rushing out the door but I recreated the accessories. I wore a light gray t shirt with dark gray linen pants.

This also works really well with a 70. I use an Anneau infinity ring (any circular ring with a little weight will do, though) in the center to weigh it down and give it a longer, "thinner" look. Two tight knots on each side to slim them and then knot behind the neck or use a small scarf ring. It's a slightly different look than the 90 for when you want the "necklace" a little longer and leaner. :)

I thought I had a picture somewhere but I can't find it. Sorry.

Not the best picture ever but I had to post it. Heading to work today with my vintage Coaching 90 cm and a hard hat... View attachment 2778821

Sophieg - you look so adorable here! Yes, silk + hard hat = Construction hottie
Thanks for posting.

Textilegirl - this looks awesome on you. But I swear, my mors ring hates me. I tried the same thing and I look ridiculous. Do you have one tail a bit shorter than the other or are they the same length. I'm not giving up on this look but it's not looking good for me.
