Here's another of Astrologie. It looks a lot more like the first two which I actually like better.

Hello Lovers of the Challenging 90cm silks!
I've been over at the Fall 2014 thread, where I was showing off some new-to-me knots that have me over the moon about 90cm twills again. For a long, long time, I haven't worn them, so I understand how challenging they can feel. A good knot is a gem. I was asked to give some tutorials, and a scarf suggested I post it here.
I have five knots in total to share over the next couple of weeks (it takes time to do the photography!). I'm starting with the simplest, which also has the most variants. You really can't do this scarf knot wrong. And if you can, then just start over again and it will come out different.

Team silk - I've come up with another one I rather like but it's hard to follow in Arabesques footsteps!
This one is definitely for cooler temps. There's quite a lot of fabric around the neck and feels like a cozy turtleneck. But not suffocating! I don't like tight things around my neck. I can see this knot worn with a cashmere sweater or filling in a neckline of a button down shirt for work. It also comes out a little different each time. If I had to name it I would call it the cowl. If you all think it's a good one, I will try to post instructions. Here it is with three different scarves.

Melora - you are making me giggle while I lay in bed with my iPad. The second scarf is trophees de venise. A quick explanation of the knot would be to fold it in a triangle. Drape it on your head and bring the two points hanging down on either side in front of your neck, cross them, and then tie behind your neck in a tiny knot. Like you would do if you were protecting your hair while riding in a convertible. Ok, then drop the hood on your head back. Then twist the scarf around on your neck 180 degrees. Tuck the little point in (you got this part right), then fold down the cowl to reveal the loose pleats and fluff and arrange as you like. This knot stays put and does not move around. I will show pics tmrw. It is pretty complicated to explain. The second scarf is gorgeous! Which one is it?
Is this knot some kind of cowboy knot with the end of the triangle up instead of down, then hidden? (this is driving me crazy)

Step 1: Lay out scarf like a diagonal, face side down.
Step 2: Take two opposite ends (doesnt matter which ones). Do a simple half knot.
Step 3: Pull these knot ends in the direction of the other (non-knotted) ends of the scarf.

Sorry to post this knot again but I could not resist trying it with a dip dye Marwari. I also started to accessorize it with my farandole necklace as well. sorry for the poor lighting but I thought I would show the result since I liked it. I will work on instructions tomorrow. Not to put anyone off but it's a little bit complicated but I will try to make it easy peasy!

Thank you, lyseiki! I can't claim credit for the magnets trick... I learned about it from MaiTai's blog. But it certainly does work nicely, doesn't it?
Yesterday I used two sets of magnets to wear my Circus scarf with a Breton striped top and one of MaiTai's shawl rings instead of a knot at the shoulder, just to make it a bit less bulky. It worked perfectly... the scarf didn't budge!
P.S. For anyone who isn't familiar with the scarf, there is a ton of gold & silver metallic paint on it. Here are two close-ups. Isn't the expression on the lion's face too sweet for words?![]()
