Marbella8 - I will try to explain. It is a bit tricky at first but once you do it a couple times, it gets easier. MaiTai calls this the asymmetrical knot but I find her instructions are overly complicated.
First, fold your scarf in a rectangle

Then grab the lower left corner and the upper right corner with your fingers and pull. You should get something like this.
View attachment 2780103
Then you need to wrap this around your shoulders like so. It almost looks like a cape but there is no fabric in the back. The 2 triangles are draped over both shoulders at this point like so.

Then take the two points hanging down and tie a knot. I like the tails short so I tie a knot about here

At this point it looks weird but one twist of the scarf about 90 degrees should get a triangle in front and voila, you have a non puffy cowboy. There should be a small triangle in your back. Just tuck that into your shirt and the scarf will stay put

As you get better you can actually choose which triangle and which side of the triangle you want to show in front. This gives you a lot of scarf featuring options. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.
Sorry, don't know why there is a random pic of step 2 below. I can't seem to delete it.

I have been following this thread as I had planned to pick up my first 90 this week! I consider my style to be casual/eclectic and am loving the 90 that I picked out. I posted pics in this thread in case anyone wants to see what it can look like with a tank top http://forum.purseblog.com/hermes/the-fall-2014-scarves-861927-280.html#post27532923 I would throw a chunky sweater over this, with jeans & boots, and be good to go!
ETA My SA showed me this knot, I think I will get a lot of use out of it.
Wow this is nice!Ok, I wore the above 90 out for the first time yesterday, (at the zoo with kids) and I think my outfit is a good example of how I usually dress (very casual/eclectic)...scarf or no scarf (this one happens to be with scarf). Please excuse my pained expression and crazy hair, it was bright sun and windy! I am wearing a tank top, jeans, moccasins and my MeM.
Will take this down from my Flickr one OP had has a chance to view. HTH!

And here is one from home, before it warmed up, with baby alpaca sweater and tank.

Really pretty! Love the sweater too![]()
Love all the ideas here! I can't wait to pick up my first scarf!
Wow Papertiger You have a wonderful and original way of styling your lovely silks . Love the Slav/ Folk Art theme and immediately thought of this:

I had no idea so many were in the same boat for early morning preparation. Happily my bathroom is OK for make-up, although if I'm pushed for luck I grab my Ellis Faar canister and do it on the train (very exciting). I totally recommend EF for foolproof makeup application BTW and their 'holder' is spillage proof. http://www.ellisfaas.com/collection/holders/holder/h101
I'm 'all over the shop' at tPF, I like all different kinds of things I only have 1 (unpopular) YSL bag, the Marjorelle but I am (should that be, was) a huge YSL RTW fan, so just for you here is a H-scarf (Quintessence) with YSL mac (and Gucci skirt, shirt, jewellery and bag)
