How To Clean Your Coach!

Hello All,
thank you for posting this information, it is very helpful!
I have recently just bought my first Coach off of eBay, it is an older ergo hobo in the most lovely shade of red. I hadn't owned it for more than 24 hours when I dropped a giant glob of alcohol-based hand sanatizer down the front of it, ugh! It created this lightned, dulled area down the entire side in the shape of the drip. Does anyone know if there is anything that will make this look better or more blended in? I did try the Coach conditioner, and I think this helped a bit, but I can still see it. I'm guessing I won't be able to make it disappear completely, but I was wondering if any of you had any tricks that I might not have thought to try.
Also, I just bought a white (or maybe ivory) Hamptons Pleated Belted Hobo in VERY used condition. I think it's going to arrive in very grimy, scuffed condition. I have never used the Coach Cleaner, any ideas on if this is going to do it for this item, or should I try something stronger? Has anyone tried Saddle Soap? I have seen several sites that warn against using this, but also several people have indicated that they have used it with good results. Any tips would be appreciated!

Hi,
I have a white Coach Madison OP Art Sabrina bag.

My bag is turning a light yellow shade like how white cloths turn after a while, i think it is because of improper storage. I was wondering if there is any way to turn the bag its natural shade again without being too harmful to the bag.

The leather For the zipper pull and other leather areas are turning a reddish color for some reason, i think it is because of the brown between the leather, not sure. Does anyone know anyway to get rid of this too?

I went to a coach store in NY and ask if there is any way to clean this and why the leather is turning, but none of the salespeople know. The salespeople did ask if i want a refund or exchange for something else since they do not make this color anymore but i didn't want to.

Hopefully i can get some tips here.
Thanx for the help, any is appreciated

hi blu3leaf14 !
WELCOME TO TPF !!
shucckkssss.. bummer about the yellowing sabrina..
the reddish thingy, i bet is caused by the bleeding sealant on the handles, strap and edges of leather parts of the bags.
sad to say that there's nothing you can do about it.
but for the op art, there's still hope!
you could try using the coach fabric cleaner or refer to my tips on cleaning signature coach here
hope that helps!

Hi everyone! I've skimmed this pages, and I didn't see the answer I need (I may have missed it). I have the Mia Patent Tote in White, and somehow now have a very lovely penmark on the back side. Any ideas on how to clean this?!? Please help! Thanks in advance!

Hiii lemcavoy87,
welcome to tpf !!
Sorry dear, but for patent leather, it's like doomesday conspiracy!!
I've tried so many things to get rid of pen marks but still not successful.. I've tried rubbing it off with alcohol using qtip , it only lessen the pen colour but unable to remove it completely, and this done even immediately after penmarking incident..
Sorry for not able to help.. :(

Hi,

I have a madison carryall in beige/tan and I have blue scuffs on all 4 corners!
I think it is color transfer from my jeans, is there ANYTHING I can do to make the stains lighter/less noticeable?

TIA!

I have browsed thru this topic, but can seem to find any real solutions. I googled how to clean leather using hairspray, milk, rubbing alcohol - but I am afraid it will look worse/destroy the leather. Can anyone help ???

I don't know if milk will help, but it won't ruin it. I got rid of pink color transfer, not sure where it came from, by using goo off product. My bag was parchment zoe, it took the pink right off.

Hey!

I'm at a loss for what to do. I have a black glam tote with the red-ish lining and a pen *exploded* in the bag. Is there a way to get rid of the stain or am I SOL?

Thanks!

I use Grandma's secret spot remover. You can find it at Joann's, Hancock Fabrics, and sometimes Bed Bath & Beyond. Just let it soak into the lining, and scrub it a soft cloth (or cotton balls.) Dampen it with water and soak it up. Repeat until the ink is gone. GL :)

Best way to remove candle wax is to freeze it. You could put ice cubes in a secure plastic bag and lay it on the wax. Then you simply chip the wax off. If you heat it the wax will spread and you will have a bigger mess.
