UNOFFICIAL HOW TO REMOVE A PEN MARK TIP!

We've had success with this on SOHO white & pink leather bags so far. Buy a bottle of rubbing alcohol (85 cents a bottle at kroger), dip a cotton swab in it. Gently blot the cotton swab with a paper towel. Rub the swab gently over the pen mark and it should come out!

IMPORTANT - if you're nervous about trying this out, test it on a small patch of leather in an unnoticeable spot first to see that it doesn't damage the leather. This tip is for COACH leather bags only, so use it on other bags at your own risk.

Be gentle and don't go too far outside the line of the ink stain. I've used alcohol to clean ink marks on my vintage tan colored and red refurb projects, and it's pulled some of the dye out with the ink, and the faded spot was permanent

I recently purchased a silver, pebbled leather purse from a Coach outlet store. It's very cute, and instructions say NOT to use Coach cleaner or moisturizer. Thanks for posting the info on purse cleaning above. I was curious...has anyone noticed any decreased durability with the metallic finishes compared to non-metallic finishes? Does the color fade or wear off? Any special care to the metallic finishes? Thank you!

hi casadelosgatos,
yup, for metallic finishes, it's not advisable to use any cleaning material because the metallic shade is sprayed onto the leather and not fully dyed, meaning that it might tend to scrapped / chipped off when cleaned with chemical substance.
advisable to just use wet tissue and immediately dab with dry cloth.
no worries dear, although the metallic shade is sprayed on, they lasts forever.
my 2 year old madison steel sabrina still looks dashing as new!
have fun enjoying your bags!

just be careful with it. it can scrape off if it rubs up against a hard surface and can dull over time

I have a black leather Classic bag and it has two very very light ghost image stains that I think were caused by it touching my arm when I had on sunscreen, the kind with clear zinc in it. They are only visible in certain lighting conditions but it still bugs me. Has anyone successfully removed stains from sunscreen on black class Coach leather and if so, what did you use? Thanks!

i know it's REALLY small and if i hadn't pointed out my boyfriend or anyone else probably would never have noticed it, but i'm sad about it :(
i don't know if i bought it that way or if it's something that happened while i was shopping in other stores, but i hadn't been around pens or anything by the point i had noticed it.

i have tried alcohol with a qtip and soap and water and neither worked :( i suppose i will try the mr clean magic eraser...anything else i should pick up at the store and try?

what would you do?

if nothing works, the little hangtag thing covers it...
