I've been searching the forums here and on the net but I can't find any specific instructions on how to clean and condition vintage classic bags from the nineties that were made from glove tanned full-grain cowhide.

Does anyone have any information to share?

^^There is a great thread that katev started about rehabbing her bags, maybe do a search on her name? She washed it in Wool lite. I took woolite to a couple of my bags and it took a lot of the grime off - one3 was hand lotion off of goat suede and regular dirt off glove leather and it worked pretty good! I used about 1/4c of woolite and 1/4c *water, put the purse on a towel, wet another cloth and wiped gently then blotted up the extra moisture. It looks like it's not working on the glove leather until it dries! And that's the hard part, is waiting for it to dry. Do not take a dryer to it!

I'm wondering what to do with the pebbled leather sonoma I have, it's looking dry (it's dry in Calgary plus the furnace going makes it drier!) , I've got the humidifier going but I am so tempted to take some cinditioner to it. Does anyone know how to brighten this girl up?

katev's bags are just amazing, especially the brown Legacy satchel. I'm so impressed by the condition of those bags and the prices she paid. We never get anything good in our thrift stores here in Australia.

I'm going to do a search on her user name now to see how she conditions her leather bags. You've been such a great help!

Thanks n.molnar! I found it also after searching katev's posts and knew that was the post you were referring to. It was informative indeed! So brave of her to dunk her bags in Woolite and warm water.

Has anyone used Spot Shot Carpet cleaner on the lining? I have a few lipgloss stains on my beige Carly lining I'm trying to get out.

Also what would be best to use to clean the leather trim on the Carly? It's turquoise leather and there is a few small marks that I'd like to try to remove.

i'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but how to clean blue denim dye stains on the handle? in the instruction card it is written that i shouldn't use coach leather cleaner & moisturizer.. it is made from a cowhide leather and i've tried to clean it by rubbing it with damp cloth (as suggested).. no luck:shucks:



it is less noticeable in the photo. plus the handle is so unusually aged:cry:

need some helpppp

Hello! I am new to the thread, and I had a couple of questions for your Coach gurus...! I hope someone can help!!!

1) I am considering buying a Coach Legacy 10328 on Ebay in Whiskey, but there is some staining on the bottom, I am not certain what the stains are, but I was wondering if people have had good luck cleaning the Coach Legacy leather?

2) What is the Apple stuff everyone is talking about on the Coach Threads!

3) I have a Coach Legacy Satchel 12704 in the Purple/Amethyst color, in the Garcia Leather. I have taken good care of the purse and rarely used it, but the purse is starting to get a distressed look, is this normal? I am thinking about selling the purse on Ebay myself, because I think it might soon look more brown than purple/amethyst!

I was talking to an SA about stuff and he mentioned that customers bring in their old, old Coach bags that have gotten dry and apparently, as it sounded, they buy and even use (or the SAs show them?) the moisturizer right in the store and, as he said, it restores them instantly and brings back shine.

I believed him. :smile1:

I don't know specifically about cleaning.
