Apple brand conditioner (not the same as Appleguarde). It works on every kind of leather whether it is LV vachetta or Paddy leather. It is fantastic!

lovingmybags.com can do just about any cleaning, restoring, etc....I've had two handbags, (one with an INK mark!!!) totally restored to perfection! :yahoo: Email or call Barbara and she will be happy to help. They are very reasonable too! :tup:Hope this helps if you are not satisfied with your results.

I suggested creating one to Leanabee (or whatever it is written) a couple of weeks ago but no reply yet... Maybe we can create it ourselves....

Hi TPF ladiesss...i need help.
i was wearing my black shawl for the first time yesterday, it was really black, sharp black, the reason-I-bought-it black, i bought it from this indian store and it was quite expensive.
the shawl had never seen daylight till yesterday, well actually yesterday was its second time, the first time was when i brought it over to the drycleaning place.
anyways, since san francisco was way colder than I expected, I took it out from my closet and wore it, first I wore it like a poncho...so it wraps and cover my body and my paddy.
when it got warmer, I wore it just over my shoulder and carry my paddy on my shoulder.
and then during lunch I noticed that my fingers and my palm was darker than usual, and I thought maybe I touched something dirty? I washed it and it wont go away. but I didnt give it much thought. in the evening I was shopping in GAP and when I put my Paddy on the cashier table I noticed that it has dark shades on it, like you know what happen after you read newspapers? the carbon gets on your hands...that's how the shawl gets on my paddy. and my mood was turned upside down since then.
so at night although it got really cold, i was not wearing my shawl at all to avoid more stains on my not-longer-'ly paddy.

I wore my paddy rarely, it's my one and only designer bag and I really loved it. It's been one and a half year and the paddy looked brand new until yesterday. I was so heartbroken and felt like throwing the shawl away. but it was an expensive shawl too.

does anybody ever have this experience or something similar? please tell me that I can get rid of the black coloration? I have not tried anything yet in fear that I will ruin the original color of the paddy. it's tan from 2005 collection..i think.

please please let me know how to get rid of the black color or how to make it better. anything is appreciated. I know it's not obvious from far away but I'm not holding my paddy from far away, and everytime I pass a mirror or carrying it, I felt like carrying a defected item. the black coloration gets magnified 10000x.:hysteric:

thank you so much in advance!

Oh no! I am so sorry this happened to you! What color is your paddy?

I'm positive some of the other gals on here will have some good advice for you about how to clean it... think positive, I'm sure it can be cleaned up! :flowers:I don't have any useful advice for you because I've never had this happen, but I'm sure the others will be able to help.

This dilemma rears it's ugly head ever to often. I had transfer wear on my Valentino taupe Bow bag this Summer from a jean skirt (very deep dark navy blue). My face fell and I wanted to start bawling. My mother *God love that woman* had some liquid stain remover known to get ink out of clothes so I rubbed it on my bag and it lifted out the dirty shadowing. This was stupid to do because I really could have hurt my bag's leather and cause further damage, however I was lucky because everything turned out fine.

Go to a leather shop and have it professionally cleaned. I was impatient, please do not do the same okay.

Everyone has suggested great cleaning ideas for the bag. Is the shawl washable? It seems like the shawl needs to be washed (in cold water) to stop the "bleeding", otherwise it will continue to "bleed" color (on your hands and probably your clothes).

thank you everbody for the ideas, i will try the cadillac cleaner. I havent looked at my paddy all day today. It's just too hard.
I dont dare to wash the shawl, it's really really black and I want it to stay that way (probably the reason it got all over my hands and paddy). but I hate it when black starts turning pale.

I never washed expensive fabrics, I always bring them to the dry cleaners. they probably bleed a little too but at least I'm not watching it bleed in the water like when I hand washed my other black garments.

The shawl probably was hand dyed, and the color still runs. You MUST wash it, or your clothes will be ruined too. Get a detergent that protects black fabrics from running, and wash it in ice cold water.
