:upsidedown:Thanks for your advise ladies, i agreed and was about to send it back but i like her too much, shes a very smooshy '05 and the leather is... anyway, i cleaned it will mulberry leather cleaner/polisher and it seems to of come off, i'll give her another going over today, looks much cleaner as the polish had made it grey ish and dirty looking.

Look in the cleaning section of any grocery, Wal MArty type store. They are called Magic Eraser and have Mr. Clean's pic on them, come in a box. They're white and you wet them a dab and they clean up ANYTHING. I've cleaned walls with them, tile, stove top, even got ink off my car's leather seats without discoloring the leather. And not that expensive either. Try on an inconspicuous spot first though just in case it does anything to the leather- I've never used on a purse.

:yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

So glad there's a happy ending and that there was nothing untoward lurking under the polish! :D

In an effort to spruce up my tired and dirty looking tan Paddy, I would be much obliged if any of you could share if you have ever used a leather product on your Paddy, and how it turned out. Have any of you consulted a Chloe store on leather maintenance and what is the advice?

Just to share, I rubbed some leather cream on my tan Paddy, and some of the colour came off!!! The leather cream was a mid-price one. I am horrified as the leather cream worked beautifully on my other bags. Appreciate if you could share your advice and experience. Thank you.

Oh dear, Minda, I'm sorry to hear that. :sad:

I don't own a Paddy and I'm too scared to use anything on my other Chloes (when they get really bad, I'll probably send them off to a professional); so I'm not much help, I'm afraid.

There have been threads on this subject, though, so if you do a search, hopefully, you'll find the information you need. :tup:

Actually, what I really wish, is that Chloe would offer a refurbishment service, through their boutiques, for both bags bought from them and from elsewhere; as most other designers do. It's all very well only taking bags that have been bought from them, but what about older bags bought from other authorised sources, like NAP? Can they just be sent back to NAP to be refurbished, I wonder?

I have taken a bag back to Harvey Nichols before, to be sent off to Italy, but that was less than a year old and faulty and it took forever and then they claimed to not have the required hardware, anymore! Not exactly great service, is it? I feel for the price we pay, we should be able to get bags mended and refurbished indefinitely (for a fee, of course).

Listen, I am going to write a message to one of the mods so that a new reference thread on cleaning and caring after bags is created...
The same questions keep popping up and it'd be really useful to share information...

On my Chocolate Paddy I have used Apple Guarde rain and stain repellant. On my orange paddy I used Lovin my Bags leather conditioner. Both were fine. I plan on Apple Guarding my orange before I use it again because the corners are starting to scuff.
