I just got a metallic Paddy, my first one! I definitely want to protect it with a good leather conditioner.

Does anyone know if the applecare products can be purchased in the UK, or of any good equivalent available in the UK if not?!

Lilana : Post #15 in the first page of this thread has the link to Apple products. Which color did you get? Mine's aubergine, but I love all of the metallics...trying really hard not to buy another one, since I just got my first one last week!

Does anyone know if there is a Canadian outlet that sells the Apple leather care? I tried the leatherstuff.com link and they will charge $29.00 US to ship a $12.00 item to Canada. I found some on Amazon.com, but they won't ship it to Canada! Any Canadians out there who have managed to get this stuff?

I use the Apple conditioner, on both my Edith and Betty. My Edith has been through some rough spots (sprinklers going off suddenly at full force, she and I in the middle of 'downpour') and most recently and most traumatic upon first glance, having a chilli-oily sauce spill on her (I almost had a heart attack), she came out of it unscathed believe it or not - I used some baby wipes and the Magic Eraser thingy ever so lightly (which I did out of complete desperation and I would not recommend at all as it is harsh) and it somehow took the grease and chilli out. Then lots of Apple conditioner and plenty of rest. She's a happy baby now.:sweatdrop: Phew!

I checked the link to the Apple products, couldn't work out if they ship to the UK or not, will email them to find out! If not I'm sure I can find a good leather specialist in London.

I got the aubergine too and it's my first Paddy, it is gorgeous!! :yahoo:

I really adore the metallics like you... I always thought if I got an expensive bag like this it would definitely be in a more classic colour but when I saw the aubergine Paddy I fell in love with it. I think the Paddy has a fun relaxed shape so it really suits metallic colours.

I'm still planning on getting a designer bag in a classic black or dark brown but it will be something structured rather than slouchy!

I just purchased my first Chloe before Christmas at Nordstrom. The SA at Nordstrom told that Chloe recommends that you do nothing to their bags. Has anyone heard this? Also, I totally love my and promised myself that when I travel (which I do frequently for work) I would not take it for fear of something happening to it. However, I feel myself weakening as my first trip is coming up. Does anyone travel with their Chloes? I have one of the Paddies so it it a alot of hardware that can get bashed around - particularly through the x-ray machine and under the plane seat!

I do however store them with a babys sock slipped onto the lock and tuck the lock in the bag.

Wow, that is so funny! I just opened my package of my Paddy-baby and was quite amused that a baby's sock was on the lock. I'm now glad I know it wasn't used, huh??? Positive feedback will be left. Ha ha.

Well I was coming to the forum with some questions about what my Chloe' care card reads. I'll scan it and add the photo to the next post.. It suggests to use some kind of wax? I was wondering if Chloe' made such a wax product for leather, but I suppose not after reading this. What is a leather wax?

I'm not at the moment worried about my baby Paddy's softness, because she is the softest bag I've ever touched!! And all I read is that she withstands rain. But I'm curious what to do if she gets a little dirt on her .. especially since I'd love to display her when she's not in use, once I get my shelving or after we move to the new condo, and I know bags get dust (I'd love to have cases for them! Mayyybe that could happen!). I'm silly yes.

Does anyone have extensive experience of Paddingtons treated with COACH brand cleaner and moisturizer??? Might the Wilson's Leather be different?

By the way, it seems like a gabillion of us just got new Paddingtons, there should be a thread for photos!!

Oh and mentioning traveling with Paddingtons is a good point. My Marc Jacobs got abused going through security (I just bought this one, and my Coach tote was inside my carry-on, it just fit best). The Paddington would not like being bumped around!

I mentioned sometime ago that my tan paddy from 05 had darkened handles after a month long soujourn in humidity. Here are the photos:

I had retired it in the closet for the time being and haven't really done anything to clean it but today I whipped out my Apple leather cleaner and used it as instructed. It didn't do anything to clean it. If anything, wetting it darkened the affected part even further and here I am waiting and praying for it to dry up and go back to its' original darkening. Has anybody been successful with treating anything like this?

Any input will be appreciated!
