Friends of mine with Paddingtons advised me to use the Apple products. I used the Apple Care conditioner which lightly cleans and conditions the leather. Awesome stuff!! The Apple Cleaner is really too strong and should only be used on a super tough stain & very sparingly. Afterwards I sprayed with the Apple Guarde Rain & Stain Repellant. I'm not sure how well it works since I haven't experienced rain & I'm really careful about my bags. But it feels good knowing my bag is protected. One tip about the rain & stain repellant is that it smells really strong, so spray it outside. At 1st I was scared to use products on the leather, but the outcome was even more beautiful! You notice especially in the rolled handles. No more dryness, only beautiful looking & feeling leather.

Just a tip for cleaning the cream colored twill:

Oxyclean laundry spray!!

It works like a charm!! When I got my grenat from eBay I was very disappointed in the condition of the bag. The interior was very dirty and I really didn't want to put my stuff in it :push:

So I turned the twill inside out, and followed the directions on the Oxyclean bottle, dabbing and blotting and rinsing. I let it dry, and DISCO! Just like NEW!!

The exterior also had a funky patina to it, maybe a slight odor :shrugs: I have a super-sensative nose.

Anyway, I took my trusty Cadillac conditioner and cleaned the leather, and polished it dry.

Grenat is now ready for action!! :wlae:

Here is a before shot of the inside of my grenat as I bought her off ebay:

I havent ever heard they would, but if those spots appear darker than the rest of the bag you can try to stretch leather lightly on each spot, I've heard this trick should make them disappear..?

Great tip Sonja, I remember hearing that totally worked!!

You can also try conditioning the entire bag. I think there has been great success with Luvinmybags.com as a last resort if the spots don't come out.

Good luck!!

LMB is really great, I'm sure they can help you out! They're actually working on my Balenciaga twiggy right now. Give Barbara an email/call and tell her exactly what's wrong. If you live outside CA, you can ship the bag there for repair. :flowers:

Minnie sad to hear it didn't work out with stretching, but I'm sure LMB will be able to help you! :flowers:

Totally OT but Audrey what are they doing to your lovely twiggy, just curious..? I wish there was some reputable bag repairer in Europe too as they might be able to help with my yellowing bbag..?
