I feel your pain! My craie has a small pen mark near one of the zippers that really isn't noticeable but what really bothers me is the discoloring of the handles. I am thinking about sending it to lovemybags too.

I try to be careful but I think it is a high maintenance color that needs some care now and then.

Ouch, I feel your pain. I bought a white Kooba last summer (bought it on eBay, turned out to be a superfake, but the leather was TDF) and got a pen mark on it the second day I had it. I didn't pay a lot for it, so I tried using some dish soap and gentle washing with a paper towel, and got most of it out. But now I have a rule against buying white bags! I'm just too much of a clumsy girl.

That was my original post and I recently picked up my whisky after dropping it off at Nordstrom and extra care handbags did an excellent job. You would not know there was a pen mark. But, it was scary. She told me she sprays it over with a spray gun about the size of a small baseball. I thought for sure I would be able to tell, but she matched the whisky color perfectly and I could not tell at all in any lighting where the repair was done. And, I just took it to Nordstrom and even though I didn't buy the bag there, they didn't charge me. They are great. good luck.

Ok ladies, tell me how you care for your Chloes??? This topic came at the suggestion of Morgan, and I think it deserves it's own thread!

I personally do not even spray mine with anything. Au natural! And my paddy has been through rain and come out looking as beautiful as ever!!! Am I playing with fire???

What are the do's and dont's of caring for your Chloe?
Is there anything you should be wary of trying or using?
What are the best products to use, if anything???

TIA!!!:flowers:

I put Apple conditioner on all of my paddys. It makes the gorgeous Chloe leather even softer, and protects them from drying out. I have not used anything to waterproof them. Everytime I have them out in the rain they dry off without any stains or marks!

I have used "Minit Excellence conditions and cleans" for my craie loaf as it felt like a bit dry. I bought it slightly used so it's actually the oldest one from my paddingtons. It was also super wrinkly, after conditioning it became softer and maybe a tad less wrinkly if I'm not imagining it...? But it feels perfect now to touch  I have sprayed my taupe paddy with "mister minit water repellant spray" and it also worked fine :flowers:

This is a great thread. I spray my Balenciagas with Appleguard usually but have left my Chloe paddingtons totally natural. So far so good, I feel the leather will hold up unless I spill oil directly on it.
Anybody else go au natural?

I haven't used any products on my paddys but they haven't been out in the rain.

jag, you've gotten rain on your paddys?? They've dried out ok with no spots?? I'm wondering what to do, especially since nasty weather is bound to start popping up more often. :s

I have used the Cadillac conditioner on all of them (non oil based),
then sprayed the Vectrawater and stain protector (non silcone based)
to be sure they stay all fresh :balloon:

I never ever ever keep pens in them either - LOL - I am totally paranoid!

I just sprayed my Paddy with a water repellant spray and I carried her through all winter with a lot of rain and snow. My new Betty will have the same procedure and that's it. IMO the Chloe leather isn't as delicate as the Balenciaga so they don't need that much leather care. I sprayed my Edith, too but I never carried her in the rain so far. With her I'm a bit worried how she'll hold up the horrible autumns, winter and spring in germany.

Yes! My paddys have been through a rain storm or 3 and came out looking just fine. No water spots or anything. Just have to give them a few minutes to dry, and they were just as perfect as before.

I never used anything on any of my Paddys or Chloe bags. And I have never had problems. I do however store them with a babys sock slipped onto the lock and tuck the lock in the bag. Buy the thick baby socks not the thin ones. The ones with spandex work best. It looks silly when youre storing them, but it protects the locks.
