ooh I would be afraid the clips would be too tight and leave dents or impressions in my scarves. I have to agree with some others that I like to display them like they do in the store. Folded in half squares and slightly overlapping each other. I line my drawers with Jo Malone liners and they smell great. Unfortunately, I smelled the Hermes drawer liners and did not like he fragrance so went with Jo Malone.I Have a dedicated wardrobe and I use this to hang my scarves, it's easier than boxes to pick them up!

The only trouble is when you have scarves of all sizes. With the 70cms, I have to start another row.
Then CS GM shawls are another fold, another row.
The triangle pointus are a real pain in the you know what. I try to fold them back in their triangle shape (very frustrating and nearly impossible to do perfectly) and lay the diagonals facing each other. Kind of like a sandwich that's cut on the diagonal.
Then twillys...what do do about them? I decided to roll them up and leave them in their cute little cylindrical boxes with the lids put on the bottom so I have a birdseye view of them when I open the drawer. Luckily, even with them rolled up, I'm able to tell which one I'm looking for.
My next goal is to find a dresser with shallow drawers or get one made. Regular drawers are too deep and waste a lot of valuable space and I have so many more scarves to collect!
Hi etoile de mer! I had a suspicion I might find some at dressers at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams with shallow drawers. I did a quick search online and voila! I'm not not sure if you like the styles, but they do have the shallow drawers! I'm kind of liking the Pierce 8 and the description of interior red lacquer drawers is kind of intriguing! The good thing is that the dressers also have regular depth drawers for other clothes. With a map cabinet, you're kind of stuck with every drawer being shallow.MYH, I've also been looking for that perfect, yet elusive bureau with shallow drawers! If you find one, please post the details, and I'll do the same. I'm still storing my scarves in their boxes, on a shelf in my closet. As my collection is small, this is okay for now. But a girl must plan for the future. I've considered an architects 'flat file', but the drawers are possibly not quite deep enough. MaiTai did a blog post on her scarf storage. I like the way she stores her scarves in their open boxes, but within shallow drawers. All so organized, neat, and tidy!

Scarfies - I need your opinion please! I have been thinking about getting a dresser with shallow drawers for forever but could not find one I liked. The Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams ones I found were just ok to me and I did not love them. But I came across this one this morning and am SO EXCITED!Many thanks, MYH, so nice of you to post your finds! So smart of you to search at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. I'm liking the Portia line, and will keep this in mind! Another option for me, as I'd like to continue to store my scarves in their boxes, is a shallow armoire. Best wishes in your search!
That's pretty clever !!I prefer to "shop my closet" and so everything is organized like it would be in a boutique. I know that might sound a bit silly...but it makes getting dressed so much more fun!
I've organized my scarves by color in a dresser with narrow drawers overlapping them so I can see the different designs.
One added benefit...I can see exactly what colors I have so when thinking about a new scarf I can see if there is a color which I am missing. Thinking of that gray Bateaux now...need that gray!

But I have two questions for everyone. The first is Do you think the pulls on this dresser look good with it? The second is Do you think the dresser would still look good if I asked them to customize it by adding two more shallow drawers? So 4 shallow and 4 deep drawers for a total of 8 drawers. I lay out my scarves H store style and think this would give me room to grow. I also want to put some jewelry away in these shallow drawers so need the extra space.
Sorry I don't know how to past pictures so am providing the link. http://vermontwoodsstudios.com/products/mansfield-6-drawer-dresser-copeland

How about a custom flat file? I have decided to get a custom flat file made for my dressing room.
I'm doing a built-in, but there are several places that do custom flat-files, so you can pick the diminsions, including the depth.
Hello Monceau, A custom, free standing, flat file would be ideal! Could you share the names of the companies you've found? Lucky you, to be having one built into your dressing room. My house was built in the 20s, hence tiny closets, and the need for extra storage space!
