I am going on my second degree....I am out of a job...as of now...hoping an interview goes well this week.....I live at home....Mom buys most of my goodies...mostly birthday, xmas..things like that..and I shop the local flea market, and get great deals on used ..so that is how I get most mine.

^Love your ID, orejita girl! It's too cute!!

And I may have answered this question before, but I am a professional who pays cash/debit for everything. I sell a bag (or bags) to fund new ones, or save up to get what I want. That's it.

I save my money by working in my 9-5pm job, i dont drink often at bars and nightclubs, eat out once or twice a week (bring my own lunch to work alot), buy clothing items that are on sale, havent had any BIG overseas trip yet.

I buy a bag usually once a year and budget sits between 500-1000 aud. occasionally my sweet bf buys me a bag as a surprise too.. =)

Funny & interesting thread here... Now time for confession :sweatdrop:
I'm 23 and graduate student. Only bought 3 expensive/designer handbags in my life, among them 2 A. Wang from last week's Outnet sale frenzy... :p

I am lucky to get a scholarship, it pays rent/food/living expenses. When I can I try to work a little - by giving tutoring lessons. So I can afford bags on my savings from one year of paid internship & gifts from my parents... But I also need to save to pay flight tickets once a year to go back home :-s

Up to now I can count 1 bag/year, and only on sale, though (and obviously not premium designer). But I think it's already more than enough considering my age and income :shrugs::smile1:

Next target is to buy a "grown-up" bag, when I'll have to go through job interviews :push:

I have a good paying job and relatively small bills, so I can afford to buy bags (if I want & I am getting pickier). That may change soon as my son will be driving soon & then college so expect expenses to shift priorities soon. I do purge alot too to keep the number of bags reasonable. We don't travel or live extravagent lives but my husband has a boat which takes $ to keep up & I have my lovely beautiful bags!

interesting thread here:smile1:

I'm in my 30s and I work hard :smile1: I have no children (yet) and little bills to pay. I work for peanuts :smile1: so I can only afford one purchase a year...and I save. I'm obsessed with purses and used to buy a bunch of coach purses...but then I realized instead of buying several coach bags a year, why not spend the money on one purse that I really really like...so last year, i sold all my old coach purses (except the ones i like) in a garage sale and bought a nice Muse II and MJ Blake. This year I bought Tod's. Next year, I'm hoping to get Chloe Marcie. I already have a jar at home that says "The Chloe Marcie Fund" and my husband is like "who's Chloe Marcie? Is she ok?" :smile1:

I work as a professional at an office job that pays me well. I'm in my late 20s, and work really, really hard - I work from 9 to 5, and then at home on weekends and weeknights - so shopping for me is an outlet. I don't have kids, I rent (and I'm saving up for my first down payment on a condo, but I don't aim to own for another 5+ years because I don't even know where I want to live yet), and have barely any bills to pay.

I buy on credit but I ALWAYS pay it off on time - I hate having credit card debt. Occasionally I need to go on a ban (like now!) where I can't buy items that are pricey to me, like $1000+ purses, because I have other expensive habits like traveling, spas, and eating at nice restaurants. My purse-shopping habit started last summer, and since then, I've bought 7-8 purses, ranging from Coach and Michael Michael Kors, to LV, Gucci and Celine.

My habit has slowed down a bit, in part due to my recent ban, and because I'm now turning my eyes towards other things to spend on, and because I want to save more. Also, while I would love a small Chloe Marcie satchel, a medium suede PSI, and a MBMJ Classic Q Natasha, I haven't found a colour in these models that I love. I'm going to wait until I feel that lovin' feeling again before I buy...

I'm a teacher so I barely make anything. My BF is in college and we have a baby. So there's a lot of bills and my one income. As I'm typing this, I feel more guilty about loving all the stuff I love. However, I just feel sometimes that I work so hard for everyone around me ... that sometimes I want to spend a little on myself. I try to discount shop for everything and my most expensive bag purchased was around $300. I don't really buy bags on a regular basis... but I go into these spurges when I see something that sparks my interest without me looking (like my cousin the other day had a new bag), then I start actively seeking everything like it and buy a few. I do pay off everything in full... but I do wonder all the time if I'm addicted to shopping. It does make me happy.
