Well paying job. Both my husband and I have well paying jobs and our finances are in order. I buy most of my premier designer bags with cash since I hate owing anything (to credit cards...etc). As far as how many bags per year well, that depends if something catches my eye. Usually I'd get one premier designer bag a year although last year I splurged a little and bought 3.

I have a really good job, but when I was younger I started an online savings account JUST for handbags, jewelry, etc. I had money taken out every month but didn't touch it until I saved up for my purchases. It worked really well when I was in my 20's.

I have a well-paying job, my husband and I split other costs, and I fund all my own purchases (although my husband bought me my first Birkin - slippery slope!!) I don't use credit anymore - if I can't swing it in cash, I don't buy it. I can afford to pick up a couple Hermès bags in a year or the equivalent in other brands. In general I also buy bags that hold their value.

I buy classic and usually pre-loved (because I love Hermès so much), so I don't have a zillion bags, just a few that I think are beautiful and useful. This is in contrast to when I was in school and bought lots of cute, cheap things. If I could do over again I would shoot for quality from the start - I just didn't know!

I think when we have kids all this will change, but I don't think I "need" anything more, so that's ok by me :D

I have a decent paying job. My parents gave my husband our house deposit so we didn't really need to save up for it. His parents aren't as well of as my parents but they were aboslutely gorgeous and paid for our all new furniture when we got married.
In the meantime- my parents used to pay for my rent when I was younger- and so my dad gives me money every month for our mortgage. We both work so a massive part of our income goes into our mortage.

My husband is actually the biggest stinge ever. But fortunately he's an engineer so earns very good money, I work full time as well but I don't have a uni degree so my income is not as high as his. And usually every few months he'll concede financially we're ahead and I'll get a new bag! hehe

I work in healthcare so I'm overworked and underpaid. My home is paid off but I took out a home equity loan a for some work to be done on it a few years back. A home is always a money-suck. I'm divorced so there's that but I don't have to hide purchases from a husband. I'm fully self-supporting. My leather habit is my little guilty pleasure. I know when to say no though. I'm 51 for heaven's sake; retirement is just around the bend.

Husband makes the living, and I have a part time weekend job for guilty pleasures such as bags and jewelry. I splurge in one or two designer bags yearly, and sometimes I trade or sell a couple of older ones to fund a newer one. Everything cash, never loaned. With no other debts but a mortgage, it's my only vice...(no drink/smoke/starbucks, no mani/pedi..)

Very interesting thread. My Grandmother always said that it was important to be a good person who works hard, paves their path and respects others. She said that at the end of the day, it all paid off and you would be rewarded with a nice cushion and the ability to buy nice things. She grew up very poor and built everything she has. I have found this to be true. Hard work will eventually pay off and then you can go shopping at Saks!

I'm an only child so majority of my purchases are paid by my parents. I'm not exactly a bag person... I'm more like the kind who really dislike carrying anything on hands even if it's my purse. So whenever I go out with my mom I usually just throw my stuff into hers instead. But I do have a few coach bags that my dad got me and it has been sitting in my closet picking up some dust (hahaha) and I do use like one when I go out alone or with friends. Currently my parents and I are saving for a Chanel bag that I really wanted... I'm grateful for their generosity and I don't hesitate to give back if they need to ask me for anything, consider that I get a scholarship refund each semester for college. I'll most likely start working for a year or two before attending graduate school, so I'll save some up and get mom that LV bag she always wanted but never could like spend that much....

I'm single, have a full time job, graduated college last year and still living at home. So I figured it was a good time to invest in some timeless designer pieces. I just started collecting this year. Boyfriend bought me my very first designer bag (Alexander Wang Rocco) earlier this year and I recently got myself a Louis Vuitton and Prada. I usually throw it on a credit card (since I get rewards), but pay it off immediately.

I don't have much debt, just student loans and my car payment.

I basically have to work really hard and save up for a bag. It is usually my boyfriend that buys them for me as gifts. He brought my very first Louis Vutton bag. As of now, I have to save up to buy a house since I just started working more and have a good job.
