How do you afford your bags and how many per year? Credit debt or millionare lover?

I have a okay job so I'm able to buy stuff I like with my own money, but since I still have to save up for my house down payment, I could only allow myself to buy 1-2 designer bags and a few pieces of jewellery per year.

I always pay my cc in full.

I use credit cards to purchase what I want. Sometimes I'm good and pay it off five seconds after making the purchase, and other times I'm very bad and pay it off months and months later.

I make my purchases in bulk. In the last couple of months I've purchased quite a few handbags and luxury items; my last handbag purchases were at least four years prior.

But I buy other things as well: Cameras, iPods, tech gadgets and gear, watches, etc.

Glad someone asked this, as I've always been curious.

The only designer bags I own are by Coach - 2 bags and 3 wallets, and they were all gifts. I have tons of expensive bag crushes though! Someday I'll take the plunge when I can afford it by myself. I mostly like to creep this forum and gawk at all the pretty bags that I wish I could have haha.

I have very expensive taste but not the wallet to match ;)

I work once a week as an RN ( stays home most of the time to take care of our kids) but my husband has a good job .I save for the bag that I like and my husband buys me bag / jewelry on occasions. Sometimes I work extra hours to support my extra luxuries : ). I pay my cc in full too.

Being a D.I.N.K. - Dual Income No Kids. My partner and I both work, and two spoiled chihuahuas are no where near as expensive as human children. :smile1:

Funny, alichelsealyn, my dad always said that I had "Champagne taste and a beer pocketbook." You can always set aside a certain amount per paycheck toward your purse fund. Finding savings like Pianote does - not eating out as much, bringing your lunch.

Say you buy Starbucks every day before work, and it sets you back $4. If you work M-F, that's $20/week = $80/month = $960/year.

my hubby funds my bag/shopping addiction as i am a full-time housewife & mommy.
i also keep a secret stash where i save some of the allowance money DH gives me and i spend them whenever there's a shopping emergency. :graucho:

When I was a student my parents were so generous to pay for my first pieces (I had no work permit for the EU anyway), once I started working I paid for them myself. Thank god I landed a well paying job back then...
