How are your Swift Bags aging?

Hi hananiki and chincac, your swift collections are just so pretty and great to see they've aged so well! You both had some very lovely colors but have you noticed any color darkening while they age? I mean do you feel they are not as bright as the time you took them home?

Hmm interesting question! I was actually just thinking to myself the other day that my lagon swift has gone a little darker. However i do not think that the soleil nor the rose dragee had changed. I did see similar darkening on my swift lagon agenda cover. So this could be something particular to lagon in swift? They are all stored in similar conditions so it is unlikely to be storage issues. However i would say that the darkening is less obvious on swift as it is on chevre. I'm attaching a picture here of Swift lagon with togo lagon, to show you the difference in colour. Both were made in the same year. As you can see the lagon togo is more bright.

goregous! Lagoon is a beautiful color!!! Swift is my favorite leather. It absorbs colors so well. I do see my parchment swift Kelly darken over time too.

Hi Hana! Your bags are just gorgeous!!!!

I am trying to find more information about swift and aging. Have you tried to spa your lagoon? If yes was there any difference in the structure of the bag? Did it facilitate the slouchiness?

I asked Doc for advise regarding arresting the slouchiness and she said to remove excess oils to add stiffness. Buying that luxury again cleanser she mentioned.

Swift is such a soft pliant leather, so luxurious in feel, I can't seem to stop touching mine but I wouldnt want it to fold like a relax[emoji28][emoji16] It's definitely different from what I am accustomed to especially with just box epsom and togo bags.

Thank you brtracy! Agree with you on swift and colours! I dont mind the darkening that much as I think
it actually made the lagon more sophisticated... lol... especially with the gold hardware!

Thank you hermesdiorduo! ^_^

I haven't had the need to spa the lagon yet, but i spa-ed the blue de malta in my first post recently. And yes, the bag actually did become stiffer after the spa, but regained its slouchiness in a few weeks. However, the spa touched up the dings and corners really well. The bdm is a b35, so it was really slouchy compared with the b30. And yes, it does fold like a relax now. 😅

on birkin beautiful handles straps hold up perfectly !!!!! and panles soften beautifully the bag my black Swift ghw birkin was sent in for spa when it came back it was perfect i always say its as if Hermes had made me a BIRKIN RELAX its stunning !!!!!!! amazing perfect !!!!

on a Kelly its not my very favorite because the handle and top soften and they dont look well !!!

I have a Kelly in Gulliver and it scratches easily. I was standing on the street trying to fish my phone from the bag, you know how Kelly's are... And I made a huge scratch on the front of the bag with my nails. The scratch is like 3 inches long. Having said that, the leather ages beautifully and the scratch eventually blended in without looking harsh. I don't like my bags brand new, I love the character that grows from the wear and tear.

I have to express my love of swift leather. I don't own swift in bags yet, but I can tell you that with all my SLGs and wrist watch band, it holds up pretty well and its true that the colour kind of darkens over years and use, but it creates such a character. My favourite leather.

Can someone chime in on swift birkin vs swift kelly? I have both and I find that my birkin slouches more and it's slightly softer than the kelly? Also, do you find that pre 2008 swift leather seems thicker and and 2009 onwards, the leather is thinner?

For me i find it the opposite. I have a birkin from '08 and the leather is thinner than my Kelly '15.. I am for the swift birkin. For me it's hard to close the kelly if it's not sellier :|

dear birkel, i saw your post and I wanted to thank you for sharing your knowledge on swift leather. It's slowly growing on me[emoji253][emoji253][emoji253]

I am considering a Swift Kelly at the moment and would love any more feedback on scratches and durability. I don't like to baby my bags :)

Hi QF, I placed my swift bag in a sun lounger and the heat basically just melted a tiny part of the leather underneath. I am not sure, but if it's togo I would think the leather wouldn't be too sensitive?

OMG! That does NOT sound good as I live and spend time in hot places. I wanted a lighter-weight bag that wasn't box but sounds as though Swift is not the way to go.

I had a swift kelly and it was VERY slouchy and scratched easily. The handle and the bag became one big flop. If you want a super relaxed Kelly, then it's fine but I'm not a fan of the leather. I also have a Swift Toolbox and it's very hard to keep its shape. I end up carrying it with the wings out because if I fold it up, it's not as structured as I would like. It also scratches easily and cannot be refurbished as easily as box in my opinion.

I think a small swift bag like a pochette or a bag that is supposed to look relaxed (like a lindy) may work in swift but I would hesitate to get a Kelly. I would actually choose Clemence over swift for a kelly (though my favorite is still box, Barenia, VN, and Togo). I would even consider Epsom over swift on a Kelly (and I'm not a fan of Epsom) just because it's lightweight and will keep its shape.
