Honesty please...is the J12 past its prime?

It's a beautiful watch. I have been on the fence about this watch and the things that are holding me back are that the prices on the second hand market for this watch is very low which makes me think its popularity has waned and the watch doesn't have a very good warranty and I've read about performance issues with this watch also. I think for nearly 5k I personally would prefer to purchase a Rolex oyster. But if this thing really sings to you and you don't care about what's in or out then you should go for it!

I've had a black J12 38mm w/diamond markers for several years and I still love looking at it and am so glad I have it. Imo, all watches are becoming "outdated," since the younger generations will never wear them to tell time as smartphones serve that need. Hence, watches will be primarily considered jewelry, if not already. . Therefore, wear what you love, and love what you wear.

I own the Chanel J12 watch, white, 38mm. I've had it for about 10 years. Doesn't excite me anymore, thinking of selling it on the realreal. I have small wrists and it's just so big and WHITE on me.

I don't know if a year from now I'll regret it, you know how you put something away then years later you're eager to where it again?

Also, I don't know if these are still in style.

Mine isn’t. Yours isn’t. Looks great on you. I too have tiny wrist, mine is black. Put it away for a little while, you may fall in love again after a rest.

Oh no. I remember years ago the J12 was so popular on here, it was a dream to own one. I think it looks just as classic on you now then it did on people years ago. I see the J12 as a lifetime piece, and I feel you will regret it if you sell. It doesn't look too big on you at all.

This is how I felt about my large Cartier Pasha watch. Did not wear it for 8 years because I felt it was too big on my tiny wrists. As of last year I fell in love with it and wear it everyday again, and I'm so happy I did not sell it. I think it may go in and out of style but the memories are never out of style. I say keep it and enjoy it. I think it looks great on you!!!

I think it looks pretty great on you too. I have one as well but mine is black w/diamond markers. I still adore it and just wore mine Saturday and received many compliments. Do what you think and feel is best for you but, IMO, it is a classic watch. Good luck deciding!

It used to be a very popular watch that EVERYONE wanted when it was first launched. I don't know if it's still as popular today. Maybe your taste is changing and you are ready to move on to a different type of watch? Do you have another watch in mind that you plan on purchasing if you let this one go?

I bought two a few weeks ago and I love them both. They are easy to wear and go with everything. I have the smallest size because of my tiny wrists. They are classic and scratch resistant this is a must for me. Hopefully you will fall in love with it again.

It looks great on you. I’m biased because I own one and love it. Perhaps wear it out a bit more and I guarantee you’ll fall back in love with it. If you don’t then there’s your answer. It looks fab on you!
