Honesty please...is the J12 past its prime?

J12s are the only watches i wear these days.. for the last 2 yrs? And i am not a watch gal.

I have the white phantom 33mm and black 38mm with diamond markers and i am happy and contented. I think rolex is a better "investment" piece but i would never wear it as its too flashy and i dont like the aesthetic.

Ceramic watch all the way ♡ for me
Hi @sassification ! How are you finding your 33mm white phantom after all this time?

I'm in a dilemma - I've admired the J12 for years, and was always a little ~~ about it being a fashion watch, but now they have upgraded the movement. I also LOVE the phantom (in white).

Unfortunately the phantom doesn't come in automatic 33mm, and the 38mm phantom white looks a little too big and less flattering on me compared to the 33mm. But I ideally don't want to buy a quartz watch and not at that price...but the phantom looks so much better than the "regular" one with black markers imo.

Stuck with this decision now:
1. Buy the white quartz 33mm phantom
2. Buy the regular white automatic 33mm with black number markers
3. Wait and hold out for the hopeful day where they may ever release the phantom 33mm in automatic?!?!

Attaching some pictures for reference of the 33mm phantom, 38mm phantom and 33mm 'regular'. Advice is much appreciated!

I had nearly same dilemma, I was sad the model I wanted was smaller. I ended up with a white Hublot, but I still love the J12!

Sorry i only just saw yr post. If it helps, i feel like there is now 33mm in automatic? Although am not sure if its in Phantom.
I got the 33mm phantom purely for the clean look.. i feel white looks better in a daintier size. I feel its more sporty with the black markers

Thank you! Yes exactly 33mm automatic is with the black dials. And I agree the 33mm looks much better for me (not sure what happened to my photos in my original post!) but given that I prefer automatic, getting that made more sense. I decided to wait though since I only live in my smart watch!

Oh actually i have 1 automatic and 1 quartz. I dont have an issue with quartz because it is fussfree.. i had to keep retuning my automatic watch's timing if i stop wearing it for 2 days or so..

Because i feel i am paying for the ceramic and look, i am fine to get the j12 in 33mm for the phantom. The automatic version wld be way pricier , as well to maintain. Lol. Jus being practical

I still like automatic watches more although I will end up having to manually wind them but that's fine for me! But the phantom in white is just so gorgeous. Thanks for weighing in!

There are tons on the secondary market at much more reasonable price than brand new though so I had wanted to look properly and see if there was anything worth buying. Forgot about it, this is a good reminder for me to go hunt:giggle: not for a while though because the LV Murakami collection has put me on ban island for a loooong time for everything else...

Hahah npnp, i was tempted by the murakami collection too! So nostalgic!

I didnt want to get a quartz off the secondary market because i wasnt sure if it would have issues. Preferred to get from chanel directly
